Heard a few wispers around me that Maguire could be off to Norwich, in what looks to be a deal better than we got for Slew. Apparantly its already been agreed between the clubs.

By no means definate but what if he goes? We'll need a replacement, would you want him to go?

I really hope this isn't true.

Harry has a lot of learning to do. As a fan, these "too good to turn down" deals never benefit the team because we never replace them

Over the last few games harry is starting to be shown up imo. Sooner or later he will give a penalty away with his constant holding on to the opposition players. If we got a good price and a sell on then get a replacement in then it may not be a bad deal

All part of the learning imo stanny, thought he had a bit of an attitude v Chesy, looked like he thought he was big time, so he needs to get up against a decent striker that turns him inside out and puts him on his arse in order for him to learn.

His talent is clear, but lets not forget he's still very young, just like Lowton, we need to develop these players because we need these players to get out of this league and attract other young talent.

You've hit the nail on the head. We could get £5m for him and would not see a good centre half come in to replace him.

hes always pissed anyway isnt he ?

When stuff like that starts getting "leaked", then you know he's off. Other tell tale signs will be when he develops an "attitude" and his pesky starts acting up.

Until then, nothing to see here.

Nobody is indispensable.

Harry developed early and may not get very much better.

On the other hand he could go on to be a Beckenbauer, captain England, be knighted for his services to sport, be a hit on 'Question of Sport', 'Strictly Come Dancing', I'm a celebrity...' etc.

If the money is too good to turn down then we should take it.

Not heard anything at all from Norwich fans this end, know a few ITK as well and they are completely unaware, don't think there's anything in this one tbh.

Personally think this is just one of the latest rumours to hit the street but if it does come off what do you consider a good deal?

I'd say 1-2 million not a very good deal, 2-3 million decent deal, 3-5 million good deal, 5 million + excellent deal. Seriously the likes of Southamption hold out and get crazy amounts of money.

I think United need to be a bit tougher in how they sell their talented young players.

Surprised if this is true. Harry showed a lot of early promise last season but has been average at best this season. Personally I think he still has to prove he's good enough to be a regular at League 1 / Championship level - no way is he currently good enough for the Prem. You have to be an outstanding defender to get away with such a lack of pace in the Prem.

Unless he has been guarenteed a starting place, he won't be going anywhere.

Personally Maguire's lack of pace is always going to be a problem for him at the highier levels, and I don't think he's pulled up any trees this season, but his head is screwed on properly, or should I say his dad's head is.
Harry won't be going anywhere without his dad's say so, and his dad won't let him move if he isn't going to play regularly.

Sun reporting Newcastle want him for 3 mil

I dont think slew is either but off he went.

I have heard the following things.

Harry Maguire is always pissed, he is slow, he is clumsy, his possession is shit, this is the highest he will play, he is a gambler, he is a Wednesday fan.

FOR FUCK SAKE, get off the lads back. He is 18 years old, he has been ever present so far this season and pretty justified his selection week in, week out. He is still young, still raw and will still make mistakes, but what he has done so far has been superb. If anyone thinks any differently, can they tell me how many other 18 year old's have come in to a side, kept their place all season and by and large deserved it.

I don't think i have seen many 18 year olds who have looked like a seasoned pro quite like young Harry has, now please get off his fucking back.

The always pissed comment was a joke ,my bad
Been reading too much porktalk

Have we not learnt anything from selling Jags and the two Kyles?
It would be a huge mistake to sell him imho

Prehaps instead of concerning themselves with Harry Maguire, prehaps they should concentrate on the private life, and the antics of the Goal Machine.

Personally if Harry Maguire enjoys a few beers, i don't see the problem with that just so long as she is doing the business for us.

Does anyone know where about's in Sheffield he is from?

what young normal 18 year old lad does,nt like to go out with his mates and have a few beers, the people who are starting to knock young harry, should realise that his outside of work habits, will be monitored by the club and if he is on the slippery slope it will be noted in training and dealt with. have you forgot they are young kids who are trying their best for our club

When Wallcot joined the Arse, the figure of 15 mil was bandied about, may be with add ons. I am told that the Saints were in deep financial doo doo at the time. Instead of the larger fee including add ons etc the accepted 7 mil in total there and then. They are now much better placed finacially and they di not take the cheap option with Chamberlain. They do seem to bring a few gems on though.

Couldn't agree more Brownie. He's just 18 and although not the fastest does not lack pace to the extent people believe (his running style appears to make him slower than he actually is). Poor in possession - don't think so as evidenced by the pass for our first on Tuesday. His decision making is getting much better and he does read the game quite well. All in all a very good prospect (possibly for someone else unfortunatley) if he continues to progress at his current rate.

I completely agree with Brownie, for a lad so young he's looked very experienced at times. Collins has helped him no end this season in my opinion.

But he is a Wednesday fan, not that I hold it against him when he performs like he does for us. Alot of our academy players are Wednesday fans, they choose us because our academy is better for their development.

He dealt with Hughes and Burgess like you would have expected Paul McGraph too!

I can forgive Harry for having a few beers if he plays like he did against County every week! And fuck me, I did enough drinking up West Street and Division Street when I was 18. James Beattie was suppin in Vodka Revolution the other night and (despite taking a wage for the last 5/6 weeks and featuring for only 8 mins) and noone has mentioned that.

I am glad that Harry does not have any pace. They'd be knocking the door down if he did. He does look like he is carrying a bit (and this is perhaps something he can work on) but I am hoping this might keep the vultures away!

Owen, Stevie G and Carragher are all originally Toffees but when you play for a club for a period of time your loyalty shifts and if Harry can play a number of games for us then hopefully he can see the error of his ways and grow into a sensible red and white adult.
