Heard he was back in full training yesterday and was feeling fit and ready. Any truth to this statement?
If so it can only be good, we lack the playmaker role in the middle, as he's the only bit of creativity in the middle.

Furthermore anyone think he'll play today?
Can see his passes tearing apart their defence.

The trouble with KMac is that he isn't (or doesn't appear to be) a naturally fit player. It took him a fair few games earlier in the season to get up to speed. It might take a couple or three to have him firing at his best and that is what we need right now.

Start from the bench for now then?

Still better than not having him in the team at all I guess.

If he's declared himself fit then he should start. Not just because we need him but also because if it was his hamstring it's better for him to have a proper warm up and see how he gets on rather than be dropped in at any stage from the bench. Fingers crossed. Another big game.

Fully expect him to start tonight, DW wouldn't have let Monty go if he wasn't going to play. Can't see the point in bringing him on from the bench, if he's fit enough to play, he stars, simple as.

I spoke to a friend who had a rather brief, inebriated conversation with him in town at the weekend. He begged him to return to the team and macca said he should be back 'soon'
Hoping it is tonight as his passing and general presence in midfield has been integral to our good form, but if he's 50/50 or even 80/20 would do rather do the safe thing and keep him out so we can have him fully fit for the last 6 games or so. UTB

Full team to play County;

01 Simonsen
02 Lowton
15 Collins
19 Maguire
32 Hill
08 Doyle
14 Williamson
27 McDonald
28 Quinn
09 Evans
17 Cresswell

Seems like Macca does make the difference to that midfield.

Monty makes the difference.............. a curse has been lifted.

I've just cancelled your RAPFA membership! :) :emmy:

Pinchy Pinchy Pinchy. Have you not seen me call out everyone who said McDonald is not an influence? Bert mentioned the "Kabba effect" the other day, I was attempting to point out the folly! Check the other threads if you don't believe me, I've been banging on about how important KMac is since he was injured.

On the other hand I've not had a drink this Calendar year so I think my Membership is void.

I know mate. I was teasing you. You can retain an honorary membership, given that you haven't drunk lager for months!

See millwall won 3-0 with monty away

He came on in the 88th minute. I'm sure the victory is solely down to him.

If hed played that long for us and we had lost then defeat would be down to him

One man does not make a team. Although he is a big help. Keep him fit for 8 more games and we just need to replace Chedders when the trial comes.

Its not just one man when he plays though ,he frees Williamson to play down the right where he and Lowton become a massive threat ,he also gives Quinn good service and brings him into the game ,the centre halves are more comfortable on the ball because they have a short option and Doyle (my MOM) becomes a different player altogether.

Exactly, he's Blackpool's Charlie Adam from the last couple of seasons only without the goals :)

Good point wife :)

Perfect summary of what a player brings to the team, who can control the ball in midfield and keep it under control and find another player. Typical United that he was injured for the derby...

Spot on Jim!

Only wish we had him on a longer contract, there's no way he'll be playing at this level next season.

he brings lowton into the game which is our biggest threat.. plus.. lowton is a different player with williamson in front of him.. punch ups notwithstanding
