Another one is...If you're at Junction 9..take the A430 through Middleton Stoney...all the way towards Western on the Green..then hang a left to get over A34 following Oxford/Newbury signs...it misses out the M40.

But don't put Stoney Middleton into your sat nav!

Everyone get back alright?
Did anyone join the M1 at Northampton like me only to find a massive queue of traffic because they decided to close from J16 to J18? Just got home at 1am, buzzing me tits off after driving at 90mph in the pissing rain.

Satnav played a blinder for us, went a46 (I think) and missed any closure. Was surprised at passing the barrier repair on the m40 without issue too. Was coming through Chessie about 12:15 having stayed back and almost last out of the stand.

Snap!

The M1 after 10pm is an absolute cunt. I should have known to avoid it. Think that's three times this season it's been closed somewhere on the way back, causing a massive diversion.

Just back but we had an hour with some Oxford fans in Frankie and Bennie's. Nice couple of aquaplaneing sketches on the m42 but other than that a good night. Missed the first 10 minutes getting in that bastard car park but our players missed the first 45 so all is good. Going up aren't we

left at 1oclock in the afternoon but missed start of the game! Went on the official blades coach, stopped off for too long and hit terrible traffic for the last ten miles or so to the ground. Not the drivers finest hour! However because of the result I am still happy. If we had lost mind it would have been a day to forget.

M40/A46 round Cov/M69 is almost always the best way even with the A46/A45 roadworks.

We saw the warning sign on A34 and decided to do M40, M42, M1. Wise move then! Home for 12.30am.

Some bugger posted in shoutbox "next stop Catherine Wheel" before game. After a quick Google map check we followed suit and parked up there. 20 minute walk to ground, so far so good.
The pub was a shit hole with chips being the only menu option ( I shit you not!).
It was like a throwback to the 70's..

Wish I had, 1:20, then up at 6 for work

Highways agency, fucking up our transport system is their speciality.

All the football fans travelling North last night.

Utd 1,400
Newcastle 3,000
Leeds 3,000
Barnsley 500
Scunthorpe a dozen or so......

Which is why a few of us including a bunch of oxford and welsh blades parked up in the Catherine Wheel area then went to the Kings Arms nearby, decent beer and grub but hopefully will not be going back there for a while...

If only......
Yes, I did post some of us were doing this way before but there is a growing problem of multiple threads all over the place for away matches so the information gets lost. Same thing happening for Swindon already. Would be helpful if people looked to see if there is already an away thread first or if our kind administrators could merge threads when they see this.

To add to the confusion, someone's bound to revive the Swindon away travel threads from the last two seasons...

Travelled back this morning, no trouble at all. Oxford to Harrogate in just over three hours. Glad we stayed over!

Ditto for me. Good to see you last night. A mate who is an Oxford fan arrived just the same time as you and it was confusing that my mate arrived as arranged and then the next few seconds later you popped up to say hello to me unexpectedly!

Good to see you too Peter! Can't get over how Lmaobob has grown since I last saw him. He's a bloke now! :-)
Can't say I was impressed with the previous match entertainment facilities close to the ground!

My Oxford supporting mates don't like the area and the ground too. They preferred it at the Manor ground
