If he were a bit quicker across the ground he would be a top six player.

Now I knew he was a good player but I did not expect this start he's made. He has surpassed expectations so far, and was outstanding today.

Seeing him so utterly comfortable at Stamford Bridge was extremely satisfying.

I was impressed by him as well. I didn't really watch him closely before he signed for us, but as you say, he was comfortable today. Astute signing (again)

Always looked like a player who could excel at this level, so it's not at all surprising. We have many more like him.

How about Mousset too......!

His team mates are already seeking him out when they have the ball. Always a good sign.

The start he's made in addition to MOOOOSE'S appearance today makes our attacking potential look even better than we imagined.

I thought he played well, second half especially, however I think there is much more for him to do before he’s where I’d like him to be.

He holds the ball well, but I thought that he gave the ball away and didn’t give us enough options once he’d released the ball.

Distribution - he was trying to thread the ball too much when other simpler options were there, I’m all for that, but he was also guilty of losing the ball.

Busy-iness - once he played the ball today he was almost admiring his pass, instead of looking for that give and go return or making a decoy run he was static. Perhaps it was to hold his position and the shape, but often this was out wide or high up the pitch

Very very early days but Using Duffy as the benchmark, he’s a little way to go going forward.

Defensively he was excellent, held his shape
Well

Where does this leave Fleck? When he is back the bench never mind the first eleven is looking difficult

Good.

I'm as big a Fleck fan as any but for a while his place in the side has been a pretty safe one. There's been little competition on that left side.

With Freeman doing so well and Osborn being able to play there, Fleck will have his work cut out to regain his spot. I don't imagine for a moment that he won't put the graft in to make that happen. That can only make him a better player.

Freeman L was excellent a few seasons ago for Stevenage against us at the Lane. One of those flair players who has real footballing vision and capability, but the rumours were he was unfit and lazy. Well, he's not that now.

Glad we didn't sign him back then because as soon as he'd shown some or other potential, he'd have been flogged.

pommpey

He was my number one target all along, knew he'd make the step up, buzzing that we've got him and buzzing that he looks as comfortable as I always thought he would. He isn't the fastest, doesn't need to be.

really? i thought it was his worse game for so far, taking too long to make a pass in the final third which led to them nicking it back off him. But maybe i need to rewatch the game, well 2nd half i will

Thought his worst game was vs Blackburn. Then again it was everybody's worst game with the exception of the cameo from the Moose!

I was right there overlooking that left hand side he occupied in the second half and he was very impressive. Every touch was perfect, high level stuff. Always composed, and he was more than happy to fight for the ball and put his body on the line. He showed heart. This immediate willingness to commit to doing things he isn't known for has convinced me he'll be a brilliant signing.
