Am i the only one who is looking forward to the playoffs? id rather have gone up auto, but we didnt so im excited now. we're on tv, some of my neutral m8s will be watching the games, im going on monday, its going to be nailbiting and i cant wait. football doesnt have to be about glory, we're never going to be fighting for the Premier League title. its meant to be dramatic, exciting and draw you in.

theyre always exciting games and teams really go for it.

and this time, i just know we're going to do it.

Wish I shared your optimism! We do still have a chance to go up despite the disappointing end to the season, but I can't help but drag my feet with our play-off record and recent form.

Strange how fans go on about our play off record yet the only constant in all of them is the fans. Must be all our positive vibes!

things have got to change in our favour in this evil competition.
A lot of this comes down to the team with the biggest bollocks on the day.Utd need to start and finish on the front foot-something they havnt done much in the last half of the season`(barring county away and rochdale-even then we still conceded).
Doyle has got to up his captaincy qualities and bolster the team before the kick off.
DW must drill the message into the players skulls that the fans no longer want to trudge away from another major final with tears in our eyes with another season with zilch to show for it.
Lets just pray that its our year at wembley, cos if it aint,i feel it will be a while till the next opportunity.

Not at all I'm looking forward to them. But only in the same way as I have been looking forward to each weekend/midweek fixture for the past 2 months. Expecting each set of fixture to be the ones where we finally shake off those piggy bastards. As it turns out that was more a hope than a realistic expectation...just like my hopes for the playoffs might turn out to be...

The odds are against us as only one out of 4 teams will go up. This is better than the 3/24 that there was at the start of the season. Cup final time boys and girls.

What, so it's the fans fault?

No, but rather too many [literally] don't help. Thousands of them attended the Stevenage game but offered little or no support.

This team and this manager have not yet let us down. Let's get behind them with a passion this time. We have nothing to lose but our voices!

Indifferent at the moment, said I would not go, but I have got tickets for Monday night. I do remember going to Wembley for the Burnley game and feeling no optimism at all. This time I think if we get past Stevenage we will win it.

I agree witht the 2nd paragraph Pinchy, but not the first. There was nothing wrong with the support against Stevenage. Whilst a wall of noise for 90 minutes would be preferable, it's not realistic. The players didn't do it, on that day.

To the OP, whilst not looking forward to them, I've fallen for home and away trips to Stevenage, again. I'm not hopeful, but I'll do my bit.

ditto

Have we even sold out for tonight? Disappointing if we haven't. I know it's on Sky, but you'd have thought 1,400 wouldn't have even reached general sale, let alone be still onsale the day of the game.

They're awful games to watch and I think the only time you can enjoy it is when the final whistle goes in the final game (I would imagine !). You can look back at, say, the Forest game now and it was a brilliant game but at the time, enjoyable isn't a word I would have used !

I remember speaking to some Wolves fans at the services in 2003 and they said they couldn't really relax and enjoy it until the final few minutes even at 3-0.

As we finished 3rd we should have had the luxury of the saturday away trip not udders

At least DW believes his team can do it!
Everyone tells me five times a day about this club’s play-off record,” he sighed. “If people want to fear going to Wembley that is their choice.
“From where we are, we are going to try and get there and we are going to enjoy it. We have a great belief that we will be promoted.
“If we didn’t go in with that type of attitude, we might as well stay at home now.”

It is surprising & disappointing - particularly given our excellent away followings this season. But the club really needs to look at how it sells tickets. It's far too restrictive - given the difficulty of getting there (& back) tonight they should have gone on general sale earlier. If we do get to Wembley I hope the club learns its lesson from last time when it made it very difficult for ST holders & non ST holders to sit together which resulted in un-sold tickets and some non-ST holders who wanted to go left at home.

Am sat in a pub in biggleswade and i cant wait for the match.
None of this doom and gloom. Just so i can say "I told you so"

This is the year we walk the playoffs.

Tearstain

Bricking it actually
Crap defence - number of clean sheets compared to pigs and Charlton is a major concern
Keep conceeding first goal - usually a sloppy one at that.
No strikers of any note left
Stevenage midfield pissed on ours last time out until we went hoof.
If we keep it tight then we might have a chance but we have been as tight as a lass from Rhyl recently.

The number of unsold tickets were miniscule for the PO final we sold out original allocation and we we were given a few more some of which did not sell.
