Shoreham Street - Til Death Us Do Part
By far our greatest month of the season by a country mile despite taking a 3-0 pasting at Crewe! Here are a few reasons why......
- We progressed through 2 rounds of the FA Cup in order to reach the quarter finals, our best run in many a year and the lowest ranked club to achieve this since 1990. We beat a premiership team in their own back yard and despite only beating them by a single goal it was a very professional and well deserved win, we then went on to beat a team who are riding high in the championship and who all in all are a very good team.
- Our away form has improved drastically. Before this month we had done nothing on the road and now we've gone and won 3 of our last 4 away games picking up some very important points in crunch games.
- We have 6 games out of 7 in February. Two of these were the cup games mentioned about however 4 of these were leagues that came thick and fast and added 12 points to our tally which has picked us up from the relegation zone and thrown us into a mid table mix.
- We have had 5 clean sheets in our last 7 games, In the month of February we only conceded 4 goals in all competitions which is unbelievable. If it hadn't been for that slip up at Crewe which we all want to forget, then all in all we've only conceded 1 in 6.
- We have scored 11 goals in 7 games this month, 8 of which have been at home and 3 of them came in 1-0 wins on the road. The most important thing I think is that we have had a wide range of goalscorers with plenty of goals coming from Midfielders.
