Franz Carr away at Ipswich around Jan/Feb 94 (PL relegation season). It was snowing. We lost the game 3-2 but Carr scored a belter from around 30-35 yards.

Both of Billy's goals at home to Derby last season were a long way out but the keeper was out of the net for both.

Also, Wayne Quinn free kick at home to Reading in 97/98 season. That was way out. Further than Borbokis v Sunderland (playoffs) in the same season.

Woody versus Brizzle Rovers circa 77 from the kick off at BDTBL, I remember it was far out.

Carr's goal was a beauty. He looks to be about 27-28 yards out on the youtube clip.

That was February 1994. It was freezing, and there were barely 10,000 in at Portman Road. We were 2-0 down very early and couldn't get it back. Cork got the other with a glancing header. Nathan Blake made his debut as a sub, and Reg Brealey gave me his programme.

For United to make the premier league.

That's a goal that seems like a way away under these bickering two hats we call co-owners.

Who was the commentator who said “ my voices as gone I don’t care “

Paul Walker of Radio Sheffield when we beat DirtyLeeds in the 2002 League Cup.

Fair enough that given Nuddy's injury time equaliser and then THAT goal from Jags.

Glyn Hodges at Notts County in 1991/92:

Just watched all that. Was there ever a time when West Han weren't corrupt? Gayle gets sent off for swearing then a last minute pen for handball when the ball clearly comes off Cowan's head. 35:40.

Lee Sandford header
Hmmmm.... Seems the memory is playing tricks on me. I have a memory of Quinn striking a free kick from around 30/35 yards and it curling into the corner with keeper scrambling across his goal. Thought it was v Reading but seems not

Another enjoyable long range strike..... Dane Whitehouse against West Ham in 94. 2-0 down and Dane's goal got us back into it before Gayle and Rogers turned the game on its head.

The only free kick I remember Quinn scoring was v Barnsley in October 1998 but it was from just outside the box.

Me and thee must have been standing side by side on that day, crushed into that godawful pen in their away end. What a shit ground the Dell was. That shot was hit like a fucking rocket and as soon as it left Lakey's boot it too two or three swerves on it's way past Flowers and was heading straight for me and my missus. I remember us going fucking bonkers! What a fucking GOAL! I can remember being at Southampton station later with us going one way down to Fareham and the Blades fans on the other platform singing "Let's all have a disco!"

Fucking great game. Shearer and Le Tissier in their team as I recall. We fucking mullered them with a typical battling, won't be beaten performance on a shit pitch in January (I think)

pommpey
Bloody hell pommpey. You’re right we must have been stood near each other in that shite away end. The ground was an absolute dump!!!. It was a belter of a goal. UTB

Captain Pedant here, the goals were the other way around.

My first night match (must have been during the school holidays). We all though Flo had scored the winner, I think Gary even announced it as such, it's only when we saw it on TV again in the Albion afterwards that we realised it was Rogers.

May have already been mentioned; Len Badger from halfway line in the 7-0 home win versus Ipswich. Laurie Sivel (sp*) was off his line and quite short in stature and our Len spotted the opportunity and floated it straight over his head. Can't remember the year. Silent Blade may be able to help.
I was standing right behind the goal for this, they had to repair the netting after it!!

He may have scored in the league game against Reading which took place around the same time that season. We won 4-0.

Edit - Silent already noted this upthread...

Andy Scott Vs Stockport. 2nd leg of a league cup tie 94/95 season I think. We'd won the first leg 5-1 thanks to a WhitegWhit hat-trick so the tie was already over. Scott scored the only goal of the 2nd leg smashing one in from almost 35 yards across the 'keeper.

2 in the same game from outside the penalty area:

Peter Beagrie v Hull, Boxing Day 1986
Michael Brown v Ipswich, January 2003
Billy Sharp v Derby, August 2017
