Have a read of this and see if it reflects the current state of the club…..

Here’s a clue… couldn’t be further from it exactly why we’re in the position we’re in

I bet there are a lot of fans in the 72 and beyond who could say the same as well. Elite football is a very reactive industry, what we’ve done with Wilder is a stop gap at best and with the takeover on/off constantly in the background we seem to just be lurching from one issue to the next.

Anyway, get to bed and get Schauffele caught tomorrow, then in your interview have a rant about Luton and Burnley 👍🏼

Was going to say.. is this a real company? Reads like a student or sports fan presentation rather than something corporate.

It's all good about saying what needs to be done, pretty sure everyone would have pretty much the same ideas.

Execution is key which is where we repeatedly fall down.

It would be pretty hard to stay on ones feet or knees with a bullet in the back of the head.

Great OP, like the reason behind the model.

This stood out to me: 'Problems start when a great culture is either changed too rapidly or resistant to any change at all.'

We had a lot of change last summer, some warranted, some lamented. We had a few new players arriving in stints and starts, but lost our style of play, our togetherness. Blending a new squad culture and inducting those into the existing culture is hard, when you're trying to learn to play as a team, but whilst having your arses handed to you, week in, week out in the hardest league in the world.

We were on a hiding to nothing really, too much quality lost, not enough brought in in replacement, and not enough time to gel. No planning, as far as the article is concerned.

God help us this summer...

Positive from this season is we know we’re down now, so no reason why we can’t renew those we want to renew now rather than waiting for the summer.

Hey Matt, putting the depressing state of our club and in some respects sad state of football in general, smash it today and nick the Players Championship title 🙂

Good luck in the Masters mate… 👀

You'd have thought that mate.

I have zero faith that we are proactively planning in any way.

I think Snek is clueless, the Prince is absent and absent minded, and we have no visible senior figureheads at the top of the club.

It seems currently our plan has been to give academy players a chance aka the cheap option

None of them bar Ndayie and RND have made it yet.

The only way a club like ours can succeed long-term, excluding the sugar daddy billionaire route, is to build from the bottom. Make sure the academy is top notch so we get all the best youngsters in South Yorkshire and have a great scouting network to supplement this with promising youngsters from lower divisions and foreign leagues.

Similar could have been applied after the West Brom game, yet we ended up last minute.

Chris needs to work out how we will play, who from his current squad he wants to keep, including which of the youths he thinks can step up, so he can start to integrate then now.

Ideally we get talking to out of contract players to join relatively early and then don’t build an over-reliance on loans and get players who will be regulars rather than short fillers.

Have perhaps half a dozen loan options and choose a couple closer to the window.

But for the sake of saving a couple of week’s wages and being reactive, it’s not been worth acting so late.
