just reading Roy's view and appears some Scunny fans class us as a local derby. This has perplexed me as I've never thought of them as such.

The teams I class as local derbies are

Pigs
Yorkshire Scousers/ Dingles
Aids capital of Europe and
Toytown?

Does anyone else consider anyone above those 3 as a 'local derby'?

theres teams i definetly hate more than those 3 (excluding piggys) but i would say its just south yorkshire and chezzy that could be classed as local derbies
but there is only one REAL derby

Depends where you're from and where you live. If you're a Notts Blade you probably work with or drink with or live near Forest fans. So for you, Forest is a derby. For a Blade in Barnsley it's almost meaningless.

I might agree with you if I knew what the last 2 were?

Having bought the Green Un over the years, I always class the other teams in the 'Big Six' as being local derbies, so Wednesday, Barnsley, Rotherham, Donny, Chessy and ourselves.

I know the rest of the press will class a yorkshire derby as any game we have against the likes of Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield etc and I've read that were supposed to even be rivals with Forest but I don't know how that came about.

I wouldn't class Scunthorpe as a derby game at all.

Pigs are the real Derby.

Leeds, Barnsley, Donny and Millers and maybe to some extent Chesterfield are mini-derbies to me. I've never thought of Scunny as even that.

nothing stirs up the raw tribal emotions of playing the arrogants. the build up, the extra mandatory pre-match beers, the 'just do not fucking lose to this lot' prayer on repeat. how the beer has never tasted so sweet after beating them, even fosters. I hate the occasions but miss them in equal measures. i look back to when they choked against Charlton in the cup - we'd have bullied them in every way. i just know we'd have eaten them alive. what a night that would have been. anyway, i digress.

im comparatively almost fond of Barnsley/Rotherham. As for Donny and Chezzie, no disrespect I'm just indifferent. Leeds? fck em. i pitty that deluded lot.

Wednesday is the derby. I want to beat Barnsley and Leeds nearly as much as I want to beat Wednesday but don't class them as a derby. It's like I want to beat them in the same way as I do West Ham... And Swindon for some reason. I think it's because they insist on passing the ball out to the full backs like they're Barcelona - it's league 1 FFS!

Re: Scunthorpe.. We are one of the closest teams geographically to them that they play regularly. Hull & Grimsby haven't played them for years.

I'm a Blades in Leeds and hate Forest as much as Leeds if not more.

Wendy and the Dirties. That's it.

Rovrum, Donny, Chezzie and Barnsley games are just arguments in the little boys' playground.

That used to be the case when we played them once in a blue moon but our only 'local' game now is against Chesterfield. Derby games are shit if you lose anyway so I'm glad we're hiding in the little boys playground.

Although hating a club doesn't make it a derby. I hate West Ham.

I take your point. I do though think a Forest match has an extra edge to it, more so than Rotherham and Barnsley and akin to Leeds. I wouldn't necessary call it a derby, but they are rivals and dislike us as much as we dislike them. Similar enmity between Derby and Wednesday strangely enough.

I'm a Blade in Leeds, have also been a Blade in Nottingham, and I disagree.

I hate Leeds with a passion whereas I just have a great dislike of Forest

I once heard on the radio Scunthorpe v Doncaster as the M18 derby. Really?

So Exeter v Birmingham is the M5 derby you gimps?

The only game I dont enjoy is against Wendy.i never look forward to one, none passionate fans dont understand me and dont believe me, its all to do with losing to em, never think like that against anybody else.
