I think anyone who can't see that Long can be a Blade again needs to open their eyes, he's gone out on loan and proved himself. Same standard, if not better, then Blackman and Moore

I would like to see Long come back and have pre season here with us. Then maybe loan him out again to a bigger Lg1 club.

The boy has a lot of talent and is a good age. At the time he was playing we were all very poor! Dare I say JoC didn’t even look up to a great deal.

I’m not a fan of Long’s and think he’s one of the most incompetent goalkeepers I’ve ever seen play for United. I wouldn’t want him back. But I’m pleased things are working out for him.

in his defence he had to play with collins .. even banks would have struggled

Interesting reports on Whiteman. Seems to go with that of a mate I have who watches Donny. He has not been that impressed. He says he has a decent shot and can clearly score goals but most games pass him by and he is not really that involved creatively or as someone who breaks play up. Says he is quite slow and a bit weak physically. He says that he is not a certain starter and more of a squad player which is worrying when Donny are nearer the bottom.

All in all seems to suggest he is a long way from being a Champ player. He is 22 this summer and I believe out of contact so not sure whether we would keep him.

I think we have moved on from the likes of Long, Reed and Whiteman in terms of quality we need. What is worrying is we have signed Heneghan (24) and Thomas (23) and neither of these seem anywhere near first team players at this level. Not sure what the plan is with either of these? They need to go out on loan but the future for them seems as muddy as that of the aformentioned trio who all are younger at least.
