LJF coming back?

Decent player at L1 in my opinion but needs to prove he is fit.
 
Before he got injured Lex looked more than able but didn't come back from his knee problems. Looks like he's been grafting hard to get himself right and we might hopefully have brought him back to train with us as a free agent to see what he is like now.

I would definitely give him a chance. Could definitely do a job if fit
 
I absolutely love LJF and would welcome him back with open arms. A decent league 1 player and someone who was desperate to win. I saw him as somewhat as a cult hero, and the sort of character I like to associate with my club
 
All I can think is that we're soon going to slaughter all of our left backs and construct one passable player from the bunch. Don't sign Lecs it's a trap!

Did he not get injured filling in for Collins when he got injured? If I remember right, up to Collins getting injured we were great at the back and then the misunderstanding between Maguire and LJF lead to his injury? On the basis of not playing that many games he could be offered a pay per play contract?

If memory serves it was the cluster fuck game against Oldham in March 2012. Francois was playing centre back in place of Collins as the latter had a family bereavement. I think you're right in that Maguire sold him short with a pass and Francois got injured and stretachered off in a subsequent crunch with an Oldham player. His only game for United after that was as a sub in the crap trophy game against Notts County in Oct 2012.
 
I also liked LJF. He and Lowton gave us good width, which was important as the midfield was narrow with no real wingers.

But his injury record, Wilson leaving and the fact that he's no longer a youngster makes me think he's just being allowed to train with us (maybe the U21s?).

I thought it was that game but was not sure. If Collins then LJF not then Championship- blah blah bla......

He was our best option at left back while he was here and if he was fit he would easily be so again. The big question is whether he is fit. He made mistakes but had the pace to recover more often than not and we have been lacking a decent attacking full back since his and Lowton's departures.

If he is fit, I'd take him and let White and Lappin go back to their clubs, then save Hill for centre half cover.
 
A barely fit LSF is a much better option than what have.

Bought a shirt for little un online today and under the shirt printing bit LSF was listed as #3 not Williams

In truth we haven't had a decent left back since Jon Harley - I cannot believe the dross we have signed to play in that position including LJF
But saying that I cannot believe the dross we've signed full stop !
 



Kyle Naughton was as good as we've had recently at left back despite right back being his best position. Still can't believe we sold both of the best fullbacks we've had at the same time. As a pair I would rate him and Walker as good as Badger and Hemsley.
