I think it speaks volumes about the squad that the players who've not played much season or are on loan and again often haven't been a regular, are all there tonight and fully celebrating like the club favorites likes of Billy Sharp and Jack O'Connell. The team spirit looks truly amazing and Wilder has created that through his ethos.

Went to the car park and a few hundred gathered....we knew the team was in the International bar but we were told they would come round and see the fans.

They drifted round and we saw most of them. Sharp got on the boot of a land rover and then Wilder and McGoldrick danced a jig. Marvin Johnson threw up rather publically and had to head back into the South Stand! Egan and Stevens stayed out for ages and they were all drinking and dancing with the fans.

We got a few photos with most. Fleck came along and shook everyone's hands. Coutts seemed quite drunk as did Deano and Steadman who was twirling a flag on his own.

We then went into the bar in the hotel and the fans were freely being allowed to mix with the players. We had the full range of chants led by the skipper. Some players such as Duff, Bash, Norwood were not in the bar and a few like Jack drifted up to their rooms to get changed. Think Egan and Stevens who were just dancing with fans in tge car psrk and singing their songs. Both these lads were telling everyone how much they love the Blades. The League one holdovers Billy, Freeman, Coutts etc were staying put and joined by Henderson, Baldock, Fleck, Deano, Madine for a bit, Stearman, Didsy, Dowell, Cranie, Bryan etc.

The next hour saw the Blades celebrating and singing mixed with the fans. There was no them and us...no barrier. I say down and John Fleck was next to me having a breather after Billy put him on his shoulders. Players were having photos and all filming themselves going crazy.

As seen above Stears was destroyed and could barely stand. Deano left at this point but Steers was going on and on. May be the least likely you expect to go so mad! Billy and Coutts also clearly had taken rather a few drinks in....lots of anti Wednesday/Leeds songs. Billy taking his shirt off to "You fat bastard!' and being lifted shoulder high and then headbutting a light. Players were taking it turn leading the chants. Even Didsy led a song and was spraying beer. They Facetimed Duffy in his room and sang the September song to him as he put his tie on.

The woman Sue who does all the player liaison came in and told Billy to get them out and ready for the player of the year do but he wasn't listening. It was like his Mum telling him off. Eventually they went away into the lifts.

Not sure many will make it through the player of the year do!

Great to go down and see the together was of the group. Sure the town hall reception will be equally good!

Overall 10/10 for the afternoon/early evening

Today's outpouring of joy indicates the incredible bond that has been established between the players and fans over the last few seasons. Now that we have reached the premier League we must maintain this connection. Chris Wilder made no bones about the fans being the cornerstone of the club earlier and clearly the players have embraced that concept. This is a club embedded in its local community where players are not aloof or disconnected from the fan base. A rarity in the premier League. Magic to see.

With the greatest of respect, that’s the best report for some time. Thank you for all those, like me, that can’t be there this weekend! UTB
