The corner flag was in his way or he's a covet Manure fan.

Makes you realise linesmen are pointless now. They rely completely on technology to do their job for them.

Unless he’s Stevie Wonder, he can see that’s gone in from where he’s stood. However, he knows the ref will blow when his watch goes off, so there’s no need for him to flag - not that he has the bollocks to do so anyway, clearly.

Still no statement from the Premier League on it. Arseholes.

Just look.... It could not be any clearer for the linesman to say "that's in"

Agreed - good picture.
The thing is now, aren't linesmen & refs now told not to do owt because the technology can always bring it back if a mistake's been made.........
Yeah right - that instruction works then.

For me, this is down to 2 things in this order:-
1. The VAR 'officials' watching the game & not telling the ref a goal's been scored. They saw it as clearly as we did but the faith in technology these days has gone too far. We needed a bloke at Stockley Park with seeds to stand up & say summit last night - none of them had any when they all knew it was a goal.
2. The ref not at least saying at the next stop in play "let me just check we got that right".

This is what really annoys me. Just because the tech is there, it surely doesnt mean a linesman cannot use his brain/eyes when needed. Surely human intervention is needed when the tech fails?

If he'd blindly left it to the tech, Neil Armstrong would have not safely landed on the moon at all - he took over from the computer when it was landing the Lunar module too steeply. The point; human intervention is sometimes needed, depsite how good the tech may be.

and the ref is clearly looking at the linesman for a decision.
what made me laugh was that the keeper thought pushing the ball into the back off the post was a good
idea!
The villa player purposefully smothering the view should get a bonus.
I half expected the ref to come out at half time and award us a goal.
If we’d deserved a win I’d be more upset but Hendo was our best player.

Never thought i'd see a Neil Armstrong story on s24su that actually helps explain a situation much better!
