What’s clear in the last two games is when a couple of players are off the boil and we can’t break teams down, we have limited athleticism to create space and turn the shoulder of the opposition defence. Robinson isn’t the answer for me, lacks mobility and I think Man Utd will murder him. Stevens has the physicality and pace so I’d put him in the back three. He’s not disgraced himself there in the past. Osborn has performed find when he has started so he gets the shirt for me. Again he adds some mobility and energy.

In the middle hopefully Fleck will benefit from the game time today and show an improved performance. It’s early days for Berge but I think Lundstram has to come back in, again he’s more athletic and mobile. Gets up and down the pitch with more zip.

Up top our best strikeforce is McBurnie and Mousset for me. I’m not sure why we’ve deviated from that and it needs to be reinstated. McBurnie showed a couple of glimpses today of his ability to drop off and link play. He did that well against Man Utd earlier on in the season. Prior to Mousset’s personal problems they showed signs of a decent partnership. Mousset again adds pace and power; don’t forget how well he played against them at The Lane.

Any thoughts?

I’d add I think we’ve looked defensively shaky against long balls (see Davis against Villa) and also when the opposition win the ball high up the pitch and break forward. Putting Jagielka in for Egan, as the latter has looked off the pace, will hopefully give us a little more organisation in defence.

Sounds like our next forum petition.

And that's one I'd definitely sign.

In fact, I'd create multiple accounts to sign it as many times as possible.

After today’s performance I would drop Norwood, and have Berge fill in.

Unbelievably sloppy.

Definitely an option. I’m hoping Norwood’s performance is just his annual terrible match. He offers a lot from set plays but also the move we work down the right flank where we work the ball back to him on the corner of the penalty area and he whips it in. Remains to be seen whether Berge can do that.

Agreed entirely. It needs to be Moose and another for the rest of the season, we create very little without him in the team.

Moose couldn't even get on in front of ZIv today, I seriously doubt Wilder will start him on Wednesday

Having watched that I'm not sure it matters too much what side is picked. Our mentality in the last two matches has been an utter disgrace. Slow play, terrible passing, and general lack of urgency has led to confidence levels being as low as they were when CW took over. It's almost as if we just aren't trying? It's been a huge shock to me.

I'm really grateful for our league position. It's still a stunning season. But it's over. A complete new season 're-set' will be required. Man Utd look really impressive and they'll get a hat full on Wednesday if we don't turn up again.

Wilder said "we'll be better prepared than most after the resumption", but we look like we are on the beach. I never thought I'd ever see a CW team wave the white flag like this.

Basham Jags Stevens
Baldock Lundstram Berge Fleck Osborn
Mousset Freeman

(Well done for sending Retsos back)

We need as many as possible who can control a ball and link things together. So start Freeman up top. What is there to lose?

I think the key thing is to restore the overlaps on the left. If Robinson can’t/won’t do that, then out he goes. In two games now, the only way we’ve created something is from the right.

Would make a huge difference. Ability and athleticism are key at PL level. We can’t reduce the LCB position to a “stopper” - it has to be a dual role, get forward and defend as well.

He was understandably furious with the header, which he’d help set up with a decent ball out to the right. I thought from subbing him and leaving McBurnie on that we’d be starting him on Wednesday with Mousset.

Yep lovely ball from Sharp that.
