Re: Kitching. I watch a fair bit of Championship football and couldn't tell you anything about him..

Bobby Thomas always stood out physically at the back for them and I remember their right back being pretty impressive (Van Ejiwk?)... but this lad, I can't remember a thing... on the face of it though, if he did 38 games for Cov last season he must be fairly competent. Seems, as a minimum, to be a reasonable pick-up in the circumstances.

Just be nice to see us try to address the more glaring issues tomorrow.

This is from a Coventry supporting colleague of mine who goes to pretty much every game.

Be a great signing for us. Not much of an aeriel threat but has a bit of an aggressive spark in him which is what we need. From the games I've seen though his turn of pace is slower than a lorry!

Signed him a few times on FIFA 🤣

Allows us to switch to a back 3... which would enable O'Hare to play in his proper position and keep us more balanced. If we continue to play 4-2-3-1 or 4-2-4, we may aswell sell O'Hare. He's not deployed correctly in those formations - will he is in the first one, but we're not effective with a lone striker.

Kitching + O'Hare allows this:

COOPER
TANGANGA - McGUINNESS - KITCHING
SERIKI - PHILLIPS - PECK - McCALLUM
O'HARE
CANNON - BAMFORD

Be a good signing. Can sing Some Might Say by Oasis at him.

Wilder’s got his wishes
Brought a new defender to the Lane
And their striker’s bitchin’
Liam Kitching’s nicked it once again

Some might say, some might say…

Shouldn't we be looking at improving our attack instead of signing another defender?
We need to do both, I know McGuinness and Tanganga have worked well together so far but long term last season it didn't work, hence why McGuinness was dropped for Bindon.

Plus Baptiste cannot be our only backup at CB. At least if Kitching comes in, we've got options if we need them.

Not much of an aerial threat? My Cov supporting father in law says he is a monster in the air and a real hard nut!

From the games ive watched and what colleagues have said. Bobby Thomas for them is more of a monster in the air and a real hard nut. Is he getting them mixed up possibly?

I can see loads of negativity the next 24 hours.

That being said, if this is just about done:

Goalkeeper - Cooper looking great, run out last year did Davies no harm.

Defence - A decent mix of 4 defenders at centre half, strong defensively in both full back spots.

Midfield - 5 options blending top flight experienced and youth.

Attack - right wing covered, left wing starter covered. Bamford main pick up top. Possibly one more loan and free to solve for this.

Let’s see how it goes but a different type of player just might be needed up top.

Cannon has two now. It’s the output that will attract bids at least, but it’s a penalty (I know they need to be scored) and a mistake by an inexperienced Blackburn team. Not sure either goal suggests we know how to get the best from him.

Let’s see.
I am sorry but that type of post will not do. We need to ignore how good the squad is and then assume that we will get -12 points and be relegated.
Please stop being sensible and level headed it upsets those of a nervous disposition.
