Good Afternoon All,

The news of our apparent incomings illustrates that finally we’re going about the right way and we’re finally signing the correct calibre of player to get us out of this league.

Let’s be frank, this is short-term planning at its finest, but is it to the stupidity levels that eventually got us relegated from the championship? No.

In 2012 Sheffield Wednesday were promoted with a squad full of League 1 cloggers and lower league footballers, they recruited right and pipped us to the post in what was probably the strongest the league has been since we’ve been down here & they performed when it really mattered whilst we faded into the old lion cage that is the playoffs.

I know we probably had a stronger team that season, but let’s be honest would players with the calibre of Stephen Quinn, Lee Williamson or Matthew Lowton sign for us in our current position?

I think expectations are too high and we’re forgetting that teams above us who historically we’ve been the bigger club, two leagues apart are progressing and have extra incentive to attract these “young, hungry” players I see many pining for.

I can’t understand the negativity here; we’re signing being linked with players who will give us a considerable edge and streetwise knowledge that will win us games we’ve frustratingly not managed to capitalise on in the past.

Of course I’d rather us be signing a better calibre of player, but honestly since we’ve been down here have really gone out and signed proven players at LEAGUE 1 level?

Think we really need to be realistic here and if you are, then I’m sure you’ll feel more optimistic.

Hopefully this is the year.

1. No evidence for that statement it's wishful thinking.

2. No they weren't (Antonio)

3. Wow.

4. Six years in league one, potless and Kevin and sons In charge... Mystery innit?

Let's do things the right way then there will be no need for negative posts

Just out of interest, have you ever run a company and done a bit of headhunting?
If so, did you just click your fingers and the staff you needed came running or was it a bit more complicated and slower than that to get the right people in?

Things are shite at the moment...majority of the time it usually is in S2, well in my 45 years at the lane it seems that way. Will it get better? Hope so...getting older so sooner the better.
I've found that pissing & moaning don't make life any better, go or don't go it's that simple. It's one thing having a moan or being pissed off but jeez...cmon some people sound hysterical several times a day..every day...every week...ever think SUFC may not be the club for you?

Are you talking about marriage ?

all you've done is set them off again - as if an excuse is actually needed.

This sentence in tonights star ,shows the monstrous difference in managerial style
Although negotiators acting on behalf of Wilder remain adamant Dons are prepared to sell to a League One rival - despite Karl Robinson’s recent outburst - they have been instructed to pursue other targets if no significant headway is made.

No Dan Burn scenarios this season ,. sign now or we go elsewhere

Good Afternoon All,

Let’s be frank, this is short-term planning at its finest, but is it to the stupidity levels that eventually got us relegated from the championship? No. Planning?

You're joking. Right?

I know we probably had a stronger team that season, but let’s be honest would players with the calibre of Stephen Quinn, Lee Williamson or Matthew Lowton sign for us in our current position? We had a Ched Evans. We did not have a stronger team.

I think expectations are too high and we’re forgetting that teams above us who historically we’ve been the bigger club, two leagues apart are progressing and have extra incentive to attract these “young, hungry” players I see many pining for. Promotion from League 1 isn't too high expectations

I can’t understand the negativity here; we’re signing being linked with players who will give us a considerable edge and streetwise knowledge that will win us games we’ve frustratingly not managed to capitalise on in the past. Bury's left back?

So just cos The Star says it means it's true?

In fact, let's have some posititivity

If a manager can get a group of average league 1 players consistently playing to their best and as a team, they will go up.

Your post is full of ifs and buts.

"apparent incomings", "we're being linked with players".

I will feel optimistic when players are actually signed.

Let's gerrem in then....

I am very confused by it all. We have signed 2 quality players for this division yet just because we are linked with every Tom dick and Harry you get the same old shit even though nobody else has been signed. It's not the same and the only player we really know about is McFadzean who in think most agree is the bulldozer we bed at the back.

On my list of players I had Nelson as the 3rd centre back behind McFadzean on the chart and expect us to bring a left footed CB to compliment him.

Whilst we wait to bring in what is needed there are a few lads training with the first team who fit the bill of what wilder is looking for in Semple and Gilmour.

This is squad building done the right way and some of you need to just suck it up.

Again, it is squad building done the right way if it results in a quality squad.

This remains to be seen.

Yes but most of you lot are not giving o chance to be seen

That is 100% Wilder's fault for saying we would get people in by date x and then failing to do so.

If he'd kept his mouth shut people would be in less of a position to criticise
