There's optimism where hope is available, and then there's denial where there isn't.

With twelve played this season, eleven lost, shipping 21 goals for 5 scored and the most abysmal method of approaching the game, where's the hope?

I consider myself quite an optimistic Blade but today was my "acceptance of impending relegation day". That performance had no positives whatsoever and we haven't got a match winner or even someone who can beat a man. Unless all 11 are firing we don't get anything from games. And if 7 of our 11 are camped on the edge of our own box hoofing hopless balls up to the lightening quick pair of McBurnie and Sharp we definitely don't.

Extrapolating the points total after 5 game is dangerous but we are a third of the way through the season.

78 points to play for . We need to start from scratch only need 36

Yes it's easier to just give up
But there's So many ways to to improve
 
Oh it's doable alright, but I don't see any evidence of improvement which we need to compete with any of the other 19 sides.

Can you explain how a team that has got 1 point in 12 and can’t score or keep a clean sheet will suddenly turn into a team capable of staying up? What tactics will it take? We only know how to play one way 3-5-2 and it isn’t working. Who will create the chances and who will score them? Did you not see the Southampton game? Wilder doesn’t know how to turn it round and we haven’t got the players to stay up. Too many fans are in denial.
 
Where the hope comes from:

  • The number of points left to play for.

Where the acceptance of relegation comes from:

  • The number of points we’ve already missed out on.
  • The number of goals we’ve conceded.
  • The number of games we’ve not even looked close to winning.
  • The general performance overall of all our players.
  • The manager looking like he lost hope a few games ago.
  • Constantly changing the back three and still being no better.
  • The left side being weak and easily exploitable, including Fleck.
  • Superstar big money signings consistently underperforming.
  • A lower end keeper who is constantly exposed for large periods of games.
  • Opposition teams knowing one goal is enough to win.
  • Being one of a few teams not benefiting from minimal crowds being allowed back.
  • Poor transfer activity on gambles and players not being utilised.
  • Inability to compete on fees and wages means January likely to be more of the same / loans.

Could do with telling that to the players, who based on yesterday have given up themselves.

I’d have them in for training by now but they’ve probably got the day off bless them.

No, no, you're wrong. I've been told time and time again that last season's results don't count and we can only judge Wilder on this season...

(and then the same people tell me that Wilder is unsackable because or, er, what we have done before this season)

Until the day we are mathematically down we will continue to get these posts by the same posters. I remember in the Coutts injury season "we only need 30 points from 10 games and we'll go up", then it was 27 from 9 and so on until it wasn't possible. It's either delusion or stupidity, I can't work out which.

When not losing sight of facts we should also not lose sight of the 1 point from the last 15 games and the possibility that from the last 26 games of the season we'll need to average over 1 point per game to stay up, having averaged 0.066* points per game in our last 15 games. Based on that it would take us 530 games to get to 35 points.

Nobody at all has said this so again stop talking shit! Of course these results matter of course he’s under pressure he admitted this himself! However people the people backing Wilder will point to the fact that he is still the best man for the job and because of the fact that he has taken us here so quickly he deserved the opportunity to get us back!
Why do people Keep making this stuff up about people defending wilder it’s complete shit!

One nice deflection in our favour for s change could change the direction

Name one team that has never won a game in a season
Name one season where we've gone 28 games without winning

Even the best teams have days like that
Arsenal last night were woeful and look at the momey theyve spent
