Lets all praise Monty

Well you can moan about him, so lets hear some praise for the lad who was excellent last night. Ran his socks off and helped towards the goal.

Me and my mate were saying how well we thought he played, was excellent all night and for the second game running was the better midfielder out of him and Speed

And yet a group of at least 10-15 people around me last night were slagging him off all game. It's rediculous.

At one point Monty was 20feet away from the ball running to close the player down and the lad near me shouted "Come on for fuck sake monty".

Had an argument with a Ron Greenwood look-a-like too

Monty made a bad pass and he should go hang himself. monty put a good through ball and sharp couldn't get on the end and its montys fault.
Monty makes a pass to SJH, SJH then makes a dodgy pass to speed who looses it and its montys fault.

I think Speed has been poor for a few games now and it has gone unnoticed.

second half he got stuck in when we were backs to the wall down to 10 men, we all know he can do that, fair enough, but once he gets the ball hes awful

and a player of his ability on the ball is not going to get us out of this division!

But i cant agree with you saying thats all he did in the second half, he was good with the ball and maybe wasted 1 or 2 passes which is alot less than majority of his team mates

Like I said in the match thread, I don't think Monty and Speed can play together.

Speed usually has much more composure on the ball then Monty, but has played poorly for the last two games for me... compared to what he has before. I'd let Speed have a rest and let Monty play his role bringing Hendrie into the middle. People might not slag Monty so much when there is that forward venturing player alongside him, leaving Monty to the role he does best... more defensive. My two penneth anyway...

Monty did everything expected of him on Tuesday, he closed people, made people rush, did the short passes, covered the whole pitch, played in 3 different positions.

I don't see why some people don't see the advantages of Monty.

Don't get me wrong, if someone were to come in and wanted to buy him, I wouldn't stand in their way. However Monty never lets us down, he's just not the creative force many want in the team.

It's not his fault that KB bizarrely decides to play him alongside Speed in yet another defensive performance.

Probably down to the fact that Tonge could pass the ball to him. I dont think anybody can deny this on the evidence of the past few games.

With 10 men having Quinn Monty and Speed in the middle was the right decision. Normally with 11 on the field, if you play Speed and Monty you need pace on the wings and/or somebody who can beat a man one on one. Got to play Cotts but need somebody to replace Quinn otherwise it's too much defence.

Was good enough when we won promotion and were in the prem.

And if you actually watched him play instead of just having ago, he actually makes passes, and has got further forward then tonge

Another good performance from Monty, but yet again many are scapegoating him.

I'd hazard a guess his pass completion rate was very near top on Saturday, he chased back, won the ball, got forward, created... sadly though, he still had the same name written on his back, so we have to say he's crap.

Keep it up Monty, a few do notice your worth!
