Leon’s looked like he needs a rest for the last couple of games. He not been as mobile or sharp as he normally is and, whilst he’ll probably sit out the cup game anyway, I wonder if Wilder might start him from the bench against Villa, given that it’s only a few days later (ie the cup game won’t give him a full fortnight’s rest). No criticism of him whatsoever, he’s worked his balls off, but it looks like it’s catching up with him. Said something similar about Duffy after the derby and he was rested yesterday.

Thought the same yesterday, he wasn't closing players down as quickly as we've been used to in the past and looks to have a lost a bit of pace/sharpness as well. Give him a rest and make him hungry again. For Preston, try Donaldson and any one from
Wilson/Sharp/Brookes/Ched... good to have so many options now, or is Wilson cup tied ??

I’d say he’s looked like he’s needed a rest for the last 7-8 games not just the last couple. His touch seems to have deserted him a little and things just haven’t fallen for him at all. He’s worked his absolute socks off for the first half of the season though so 2-3 games out might be exactly what he needs to get the energy levels back up for the final few months of the season.

Maybe he's just got lazy after getting his new contract ,looked a bit Ashley ward to me yesterday seemed more interested in trying to mindmelt with their defender than go looking for the ball

Yeah he probably needs a bit of a rest, although he hasn't played that many games in the last few weeks it's still that time of the season where legs [and especially older legs] start to feel it a bit. Billy will be itching to get back in anyway and i'd bet my right arm that he will find the net. The Don continues to deliver and Wilson looks tidy.

29 goals from that lot combined so far, not even counting a couple from Brooks.

Wilson isn't cup tied but I don't see him playing as I imagine he will play against Villa

Billy and Wilson for me. Donaldson is getting on, will be susceptible to muscle injuries as we’ve seen and Wilson needs the minutes.
Bring Wilson off for Donaldson after 60 so they’re both fit for Villa.
