Unless its a club thats looking for someone:

a) to make an instant impact to give their promotion hopes a boost or
b) to get them out of the shit

then I don't see him going anywhere. He's got to be around the £12-15k pw mark so you can rule out a "routine" move where United are just looking to get him off their books. I reckon it could be Villa going for it to supplement Abraham in which case it would be a huge mistake on our part to release him.

Clarke has always blown hot and cold, all his career. We've enjoyed his hot, more hotter than most. But now he's blowing cold again. Time to say goodbye.

Think we need someone who will run at defences like time wasters did today. All our attackers and attacking MF players have too much chalk on their boots for my liking.

Madine was our outstanding player today but won't be match fit for weeks yet so we need Clarke.

Wilder said in his interview they were very keen on keeping the players he wanted (ie JOC, Enda, Billy) and wanted to get their contracts sorted.

After this he went into the LC rumours and seemed very open to him leaving after all he’s contributed.

It surprised me a little as CW tends to play down rumours, but I feel he favours Washington over Leon now so I can’t see him being around much longer.

If he’s not gone in Jan he’ll definitely be gone in Summer, but he still goes with approval. He’s had a great couple of seasons for me but it’s gone stale for him now.

Madine's fitness was a shock today tbh. 30 mins in and he's knackered! I mean, I know he's not had the legendary "full pre-season" with us - but that really surprised me.

I totally agree with you about having players who will run at other players. Norwich's 18, 17 and 37 all did that. We have few who can carry a ball and run at folks. That's an ingredient that's missing.

I don't think we need Clarke though - his mind has already left us, so he may as well take his body with it and get us some dosh.

My point is that the upgrade isn't really an upgrade though, I think he's worse.
Leon has proven he can score and play in this division, we've not been promoted yet.

Hillsborough aside, he's the only player I've ever seen score a perfect hat-trick for us, and quite possibly the only player I'll ever see do so.

Leon is the quintissential 'Rabbit Out of a Hat' signing for our Chris and, no disrespect intended, I just can't see him performing as well for another side as he has under Wilder.

I agree. May behe has another couple of seasons at this level but it is a concern when good teams have
players at the end of their careers

We always enjoyed strikers who grabbed chances when presented. He falls in the Bobby Davison bracket . 2 goals v the pigs will live long in the memory and a scoring spurt that was epic at the time. But CW is ruthless. He's trying to improve every position a bit at a time as finances dictate. Leons shelf life is at the sell by date so we can balance the books
