Love Leon played a big part in our revival in recent seasons, on his day a great finisher & his performance against Hull the other year was class , in his last appearance as a sub against Liverpool I thought he did well & was unlucky not to get our equaliser . if he does end up moving on I wish him nothing but the best ⚔️

If another Championship club was interested in Leon and their fans asked what he’s like? Is he any good?
It would be quite tricky to assess Leon because he’s a bit of an enigma.
Some say he’s crap......some say he’s great, a real talent and you can understand both viewpoints.

You know how many players have good games or bad games.....
Well Leon often has the good game and bad game....within the same game.
He has this habit of missing easy chances but then his next chance will be really difficult chance and he’ll show some class by converting it.
He will also mis control the ball like he’s a donkey with no ability....then the next time he’ll be like David McGoldrick....bring a difficult ball under control then produce a subtle brilliant pass to set his fellow striker up with a great chance. He’s a bit slow but decent intelligence showing some nice link play.

Leon has this languid style as though he‘s lazy but seeing him over a long period that was inaccurate because he ran about and worked hard for us.

Leon Clarke has always been a lower league journey man who pops up with producing moments of class.
Its those moments that ensure he’s always earned good contracts but he’s never been consistent enough.
Some would have said he’s wasted his career...unfulfilled promise but at least he delivered and was a success with us. Wish him well wherever he goes.

I think as well that when you see him score four in one game you realise he always has that same hunch and bland face that makes him look mardy and depressed. He's not, that's just how he looks.

A brilliant memory of him was last year when he was at Wigan v L**ds at their ground. Against all the odds when Wigan got the winner he was running around punching the air in celebration, knowing what it meant to the Blades. Good man.

Got an assist that game as well didn't he?

CLASS

Did you go to the Match? Was very lucky to get on the scoresheet. He was shockingly bad today 0 effort and offered nothing all game as was Robinson both up top was dreadful.
He looked a shadow of his former self ☹️
Time to say goodbye and thanks for your previous efforts Leon!

Thanks Leon for
Hillsborough
Wolves at-home
Leeds away
Hull
Port vale away
Great game for Wigan at bellend road

That Wolves game was probably the peak of his golden patch with us - bullied a really good side all night

What a load of unpleasant comments on Leon on here. He pressed for 90 - he engaged backing in for every long ball out. He’s not what he was but to imply he put no effort in is simply ridiculous. For no effort look for no contact all match Robinson. Callum has some lovely touches on the ball but has yet to complete a tackle.

For incompetence look no further than Bryan and for disinterest no further than Ravel.

Goodish start from Rodwell but we were different class when Bash came on. Watching Bash, Kieran F and Leon doing triangles in the corner was just like old times.

Jags was as professional as ever, but stars of the show were Luke and Ben. Luke was magnificent for 90 minutes, aggressive and skilful. Start him against Sham in my books.

I love Leon and he didn’t look disinterested, just unfit and lacking in the quality that we are now accustomed to.

We outgrew him last season when McG upped the ante and he looks miles away from a player who should be in our squad now. Shame but that’s progress.

Got a goal he couldn’t miss gaping net. But prior to that his bad positioning getting caught offside made our goal ruled out.
Time for him to move on

Unfortunately I think today could have been Clarkes last game in a United shirt. Some brilliant memories of him in the red and white, especially Northampton away.

What game were people watching? He pressed well. Won a fair few flick ons.

He made loads of runs to get in behind, just wasn't getting picked out. His goal was good positioning and he's given a good shift today. Will always be grateful to Leon for his time here.

He was Caught offside too bad positioning preventing a well worked goal.

Leon Clarke, during that purple patch at the beginning of the 17/18 season, put in the highest level of individual performances I've seen from a Blades striker (I started avidly attending approx 20 years ago). He was absolutely superb.

A shame that he couldn't keep it up, but for that contribution (remember we were 1st in the Championship during that patch) & for the takedown of Wednesday at Hillsborough - he will always be very fondly remembered by me.

He was absolutely on fire!

Clarke has been great but he won't play much these days.

I'd like to see him head up to Scotland actually, I think the game up here would suit him.
