A good source says Hull have made a £5m bid for Leon. Take it and run?

£5million bid from Hull apparently.

What does everyone reckon?! Hold on to him or cash in?

BULL. SHIT.

I like Leon, but thats a tempter, given his age, injury record and dips in form. Would depend on two things for me; 1- if Wilder gets at least £4.5m of it to reinvest ON TOP of the budget, and 2- theres an identified improvement to be brought in. If it meant bunging an extra £1m on the loan fee to bring in Abraham for example.

He isn't getting any younger BUT some players age much more slowly than others and he looked as fit as a fiddle last season. Plus as much as I love Billy, Leon took over the role of talisman and you don't sell your talisman unless it's for stupid money. Is 5M stupid money for an in form championship striker?

You'd have to take that sort of money.

Who honestly thinks he can come close to replicating last season?

He probably won't score 4 in one match and two consecutive hat tricks but I can see him getting double figures again Ricky. He was unplayable at times last season and I don't think it was a one off. If you look at how well he played in the end of the promotion season as well, I think he may have hit his pomp in his 30s, it does happen.

THREADS MERGED

£5mil would give us a £50k a week contract over 2 years to offer to a free agent without denting the budget at all.
Is there anyone out there we could pick up on a free?

I just can't see that being true. I think we'd sell for £2.5m so £5m would get snapped up pretty sharpish
