Is a donkey.

is immobile

Is lazy

Cannot play with sharp

Does more harm than good

Flicks on to no-one

A bit harsh, I'm a massive critic of playing Sharp and Clarke together, but I don't think Clarke is a donkey.

If we had sold Sharp in the summer, Clarke would have been an ideal replacement, but to play together or as a back up to Sharp, no thanks. I would have looked at a younger and cheaper player who would have been happier to play second fiddle to Sharp, not a Striker who is used to being the main man.

I obviously don't know the ins and outs of the signing so it's hard to criticise Wilder.

'Flicks on to no one' That's because Sharp is always the other end of the pitch to him!!!

It happened about half a dozen times last night and I can't work out exactly whose fault it was.

Leon must know he's the furthest man forward, so any flick on would go to no one.

Billy knows that Moore's aiming for Leon's head, so needs to get himself somewhere close to him to try and pick up knock ons.

It was a bit like hitting the first defender with crosses, once is forgivable, but when it keeps happening.....

Think its two early to say sharp and Clarke are incompatible they looked good at Chesterfield, We have to find more quality in the last third, teams now are accepting we will dominate midfield so are playing two banks of four and playing deep so we hit a brick wall Walsall did it brilliantly last night (as they did in the checkertrade match ) Although having said that they got a lot of help from an inept referee ) they also had a threat of there own in the Turkish midget and Bakayoko ( a young kid ) who played well against us in the checker trade ( he looks a real prospect ) reminds me of Deahen who they sold to Watford physically strong and knows how to find the net.
It's amazing how teams like Walsall play out of there skins when playing at the lane as a performance like that would see them well up the table,
reading there fans comments before the game it obviously was probably there best performance this season and as I say at the lane, very frustrating.

No I do agree, I just hate how Clarke get's all the stick for this partnership not working when, for me, when they play together Clarke out performs him nearly every time.
I'd like to see Clarke and Lavery start up top on saturday.

I'm going to stick up for Clarke a bit here. He's only ever played up front with Sharp. If Sharp was the new signing and we'd only seen him up front with Clarke we'd be saying he was immobile and poor. I'd like to see Clarke up front with either Done or Lavery on Saturday before writing him off

Clark had to chase his own flicks on more than one occasion last neyt. Suspect Sharp is so thick he can't figure out he needs to work off him when he's playing, instead of it being the other way around when he's paired with Done. Love Sharp to bits but he was very poor last night and made Clark look just as bad as a result.

People say Clarke is lazy but what about when he sprinted back half the length of the pitch to slide in and cleanly take the ball off the right back and then started running with the ball, only to give it to Lafferty to fuck up.

Didn't see Billy doing owt like that. People see what they want to see, but had Billy let Leon take that pen rather than give the keeper a backpass we would've got a point last night.

I agree, but Sharp was already at the club and made captain by Wilder.

It doesn't make sense to sign a player like Clarke when the manager has set his stall out from day one that Sharp is to be the main striker and play the role that Clarke also likes to play.

I've said elsewhere that I wonder of Clarke was a replacement for Sharp rather than a partner. Then for whatever reason Sharp didn't end up going. I know Ipswich were interested in Sharp in the summer and I wonder if we have a bit of a Geoff Horsefield scenario going on in that we have ended up with a striker on good money that is no longer really needed due to how things have panned out. Could be wrong of course

Or maybe CW just got it wrong. It happens. No-one's perfect.

Cringeworthy post. Suspect piggery at work.

How very dare you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't someone throw their toys out the pram without being accused of treason?

I assumed that there was an element of opening Pandora's box to find a can of worms lodged inside a hornets nest when i read it... :)

Haha, move along no flying pandora worms here!!!

I have just had a thought - have we won a game where Leon Clarke has started the game yet?

Thanks for the information Grafikhaus. That confirmed my suspicion and tells it's own story
