For me personally by far and away the best player on the pitch for our first 2 home games. Billy needs to be closer to him Leon looks a reyt handful and never gives the defence a breather, but for all his hard work there is no support if Billy played closer we could have one hell of a partnership 40+ goals and a bit of support from central midfield wouldn't go amiss, far too slow in this area as is the rest of the side. For now all his hard work is resulting in sweet F.A

I think Clarke has been shite personally, won a few headers when it's been hoofed up to him and that's about it.

I just can't believe Wilder thought Sharp and Clarke would be an affective partnership. The Clarke money could have been invested on other areas of the pitch which need strengthening, up front is the one area we are strong (even before Clarke signed).

I do think he has been far and away the best of a terrible bunch so far. He does cause problems, and quite often he has to cause problems alone. Sharp is always absolutely miles away, so even though Clarke isn't a target man.. He is being expected to do that kind of job, but without any actual support from his partner.

I can't believe I'm actually defending an ex-pig over a Blades fan.

So could Clarke play with any of our other strikers?
Done, McNulty, or no that's right, we sold the fast lad

thought Clarke was poor today. Won little in the air from the aimless hoofball we were playing, hold up play was poor and a lot of the time his second touch was a tackle

It actually hurt me typing it but it's true

Yeah that's right, we have sold our only striker who is quick and runs at players and replaced him with Leon Clarke FFS!

Look straight at Sir Wilder for things like that. He's the one that decided a change of Formation and style was needed, right before the season started.

But I don't have a problem with changing the formation if we are playing the right players to make the formation work.

A 4-4-2 with a front 2 of any of Sharp, Done, McNulty or DCL would be more effective that Sharp and Clarke. Basically we have signed a striker we didn't need and shouldn't have signed, we needed to sign a similar striker to Adams to give us more options up front.

442 won't work when we have 1 mobile, good midfielder. No matter who the strikers are.

Clarke looks bang average to me, at best. He flicks it on to no one in particular, he doesn't seem to show for the ball to feet from midfield, he's slow off the mark, has poor movement and awareness of others. I'd like to see his pro zone stats cos he doesn't appear to break sweat to me. Safe to say I'm not impressed and he's not on his own, Chris Wilder would owe me a lengthy explanation about Duffy and Hussey if I'd financed their deals and he might not have signed him, but why is he playing Matt Done?

Wilder has promoted this "never say die" attitude, but there has been little evidence of it so far, in fact many of his squad look like they might be about to!
