May be a sensible explanation for this and I’m not digging him out before anyone suggests but why did Leon not have a poppy on his shirt against hull? I’ve just had a look again at the pictures of the goals and he celebrates with Duffy (poppy on shirt) but none for our Leon. Did he change shirt or anything at half time? Can’t seem to find pics of the shirt he had on before the goals?

Ah happy days, I just thought it could have been blood on a shirt or a ripped shirt or something, and that’s why it was changed. Like I said it was an honest question not a dig.. innocent until proven guilty and all that.

Indeed. Personal choice. Just like Brendan Rogers. When Reading manager he wore a poppy, when Liverpool manager he wore a poppy, when Celtic manager he chose not to wear a poppy. Like I say personal choice. He’s not being influenced by his employer or anything...

Is that a choice? Strange how none of the Celtic players or staff "chose" to wear a poppy, no?

Bloody hell blades calm down, I only asked a question about weather he was wearing one or not. I found it strange that the rest of the lads had them on in the pics but he didn’t. I haven’t criticised him for not having it on nor have I said he should have it on. Some of the replies you get on here for asking a question can put you off posting your input and questions to fellow blades off for life. Thought we were all blades??

Fleck and Coutts didn't have poppies on their shirts either in at least one half

Perhaps we only had 8 shirts with poppies on and had to share them.

I'm writing this wearing a poppy wristband its from last year, but dropped a few quid into the British Legion pot before i left the UK.

I noted a number of players neglected to wear 'children in need' lapel pins the other week. Was it just oversight or a deliberate error?

Don't get upset about it, you were honest and so were the responses. You might need to get thicker skin on here pal.
For the record it WOULD have bothered me if he didnt wear a poppy, or I would have been eager to know why he chose not to at least.

It's a slight shame for the charity auction of the shirts (believe this is happening?) as the shirt that Leon scored 4 in would've fetched a good price.

Leon wears a bigger shirt than the rest of the players, the kitman probably did have spare or two with the poppies on them but didn't make a special XL spare for Clarke.

This is deplorable, unpatriotic, the last straw etc.etc. blah, blah
