Warnock ,Robson ,Blackwell ,Vogts ,Lampard and countless other managers and players rate him as a good player. SBSP and a few other attention seeking nerds on a website thinks he's rubbish.

I wonder who is right ?

Monty, Morgan, Warnock. Give me people with passion for the club anyday. I still say my best times at Bramall Lane were when we had 10,000 passionate fans instead of 25,000 wingers.

I am right.

His very few attributes are heavily outweighed by his many faults.

He does give 100% and no doubt would do any for SUFC but this does not make him a good footballer.

He does sometimes make crucial tackles in front of the defence, but as soon as he has the ball at his fet he hasn't got a clue what to do and 9/10 times the ball is back with the opposition within 10 seconds.

He has no positional sense whatsoever and most of his '100% effort' is used chasing shadows because simply does not know where he should be stood.

How you can have played 200+ matches (I know this fact is very important to all Monty lovers) have no footballing brain and no be able to pass a ball 5 yards is beyond me.

Remind me again, you are manager of which side, giving you better knowledge than the managers mentioned above?

.

So the build up to our 1st goal against the Pigs. Monty didn't know what to do with the ball did he? So he just took 2 men on and put in a perfect cross on the left wing.

But I guess that's what you do when you have no footballing brain...

Obviously everyone has good and bad games or moments - by their own standards.

It shows how infrequent the good bits of his game on when you an recall nearly all of them.

The important thing is that the bad far out numbers the good.

You are all entitled to your opinions - it's just that you are wrong :)

Erm, raining on parade time. An opinion can never be wrong. But if that statement was an attempt to be condescending then well done to you my little variety bus child.

I recalled that moment because it was exactly why Monty is brilliant. He attemped to take 2 players on despite it not being his forte, and then when he loses the ball he doesn't give up and gets the ball back to put in an inch perfect cross.

I am of the opinion that Burton Albion are a better football team than Manchester United. Would you not same I was wrong?

Factually you may be wrong but if that is your opinion then that is what you believe. I would argue that Manchester United are better and use facts to back my belief up but I can't say that your opinion is wrong because that would be saying your belief differs from your opinion.

Ok, lets try something different. My opinion is that Sheffield is south of London. Am I right or wrong?

Again factually you are wrong, but if you believe it then your opinion is not wrong. You're just holding the map upside down :)

You've lost me now. How can my opinion be both "factually wrong" and "not wrong" at the same time?

Because the first is about objective fact - whilst the second is about subjective perception.

Sheffield in in fact north of London - but if you were holding the map up-side-down you may perceive it to be the other way around - and therefore you would believe London to be north of Sheffield. In this case it is a fact that Sheffield is north of London, and it is also a fact that you perceive London to be north of Sheffield - ie London is north of Sheffield in your opinion

Factually you're wrong - but it's not wrong to say that it's your opinion.

You follow?

Also if you left London travelling south then you would arrive in Sheffield before rearriving in London so that could also prove the point that Sheffield is South of London :D

So an opinion can be wrong then. If I say I am of the opinion that I am a dead ringer for Carol Vorderman, then that opinion is wrong (trust me I don't look like Ms V). If you say you are of the opinion that I have the opinion that I am a dead ringer for Carol Vorderman, then your opinion is right.

I think that's right (or wrong)...

Oh I'm with you now. I missed that.

You must mean "whingers".

[Edit] Yeah going back, I've missed out almost a whole page. I got sucked striaght into the "opinions - right or wrong?" debate :D

Eh?? Sort of -- I think :)

If you are of the opinion that you are a dead ringer for Ms V then it's right to say that that is your opinion. Whether your opinion is in fact correct is a totally different matter!

An opinion can be factually wrong - but that doesn't alter the reality that you hold that opinion.

What if I think I think your opinion is wrong does that make it right or wrong ,if yours is right or wrong ?

My brain hurts
