I was just thinking about tonight and wondered if anyone else agreed with me that perhaps Lee Hendrie should get the nod to play in the play-offs.

My reasoning is this;

a) Quinn has been out of form for awhile now
b) John-Joe has been indifferent since we signed him on loan
c) Howard hasn't cut the mustard neither.....

So maybe Lee Hendrie is the answer? I know theres a mixed opinion on him, but I still think hes capable of doing a job for us. Hes one of few potential big match players in our squad, and these next few games are the biggest we've had for a couple of years!

I'd like to see him starting at the side of Monty.....

I dont think Blackwell will play him, because he has had the chance to & hasnt.

He might have to change something....2 late fitness tests could mean a couple of players out....

I fear if we play the same team, in the same manner that we have in our last 2 away games we wont get the result we need tonight.

Me too, starting to wonder where the next goal is coming from, the better teams work out our plan A, and being as we don't seem to have a plan B we don't score, just glad the defenders are on top of their game, but with not much midfield in front of them they are having to work hard

Hendry everytime for me. I didn't like him at 1st but since he come back from Blackpool his attitude has changed. I'd definately go with him. He can create and also he's got a good free kick in his ammo

Hendrie should be in the first 11 every week - I cannot understand why Blackwell wont play him, even more so when tyou consider Quinn recent form.

I think Hendo does have a lot of quality and has the right attitude now (as I've been banging on about for ages!). If someone has to come in to partner Monty then i'd definately give Hendo a go, theres always O'Toole to bring on if it isn't working out.

All together now.... "Lee Hendrie's shagged your mum" :D

I've been critical of Hendrie is the past simply because i had high hopes for him when he signed and he has been a catagorical failure thus far (and an expensive one at that).

I have to also say that i have seen very little to suggest that he still has the ability which won him an England cap during his early career.

That said i do think that he is the kind of player who relishes the big occasion and if there is one thing that has been missing from our team this season (since Speedo's injury at least) it is that kind of player.

I very much doubt that Kevin will change things unless he has to and i also think that a high energy, workman-like performance will be his expectation for the away leg of the play-off semi (if not the entire play-off campaign). For those reasons i cannot see Hendrie featuring unless Kevins hand is forced.

Personally, i would go for Howard and Monty because Howard too has shown in the past that he can do it on the big stage and he has at least shown glimpses of ability this season.

We need to play the ball on the ground. Maybe Hendrie can be the answer, All this hoofing the ball dosnt get us nothing. Away goal is a big need tonite, look at chelsea. CUM ON U BLADES!!!!!!
