Can we hurry up and get this thread to at least 50 pages, part of the requirements for Evans signing is that his thread must be at 50 pages before he is announced on Insta with the Blades shirt

It was pointed out at the time (before Christmas) that Giddings’s tweet on his interview with Wilder, in which he said it was 3 loans and 1 permanent, that this wasn’t actually said by Wilder in the interview that was then posted online. Yes, he mentioned he was planning to bring in 4 assuming no major departures – he did not give any more detail on whether these would be permanents or loans.

Giddings was aked on twatter and he said that Chris said it at the press conference, not as part of the recorded interview.

For me the Evans signing especially shows great faith in wilder. Kev might just about of heard of him but not much and the prince wouldn’t have a scoobie so who he was, and they are putting in 750k each for 2 players who aren’t guaranteed a start.

I always thought the budget was a load of crap because if the money is there and wilder can convince the committee on a player we can go for them. Obviously not millions but I wouldn’t be surprised if 2 more players of the same value also followed suit if they are there to be had.

Correct CW said in an interview he was looking for four incomings and then went onto say outgoings would be a mixture of permanents and loans. Giddings tweeted it was 1 permanent and 3 loans incoming. When challenged by a poster on here that CW didn't say that he responded by referring to a press conference where it was said. Stir as usual jumped on the back of Giddings and reported the 3 and 1 figures. When Evans is signed up for a permanent fee it will just confirm there is no point in taking any notice of the local media when it comes to transfer speculation.

Precisely so Colin. I couldn’t have put it better myself, and that’s some compliment, believe me... :)

The sad thing is the number of people who actually walllow in the negativity and are disappointed with anything that doesn’t put the club they claim to support in a bad light. They’re still clutching that agenda, though. We’re spending more than they hoped so they’ll move effortlessly into ‘selling best players’ mode.

Just watch ‘em go.

Why is it more than likely. Have you done a statistical analysis?

Whiteman will be on his way out, for one.
It's my opinion ,This is a forum for Sheffield united fans to air their opinion

That clears that up then. Must have been a busy press conference given the number that heard Wilder say it! :)

Confirmed along with James Wilson - happy to see our deals getting done early!

the birmingham mail have picked up on that tweet. saying he has agreed personal terms & passed a medical set to sign a 3 1/2 year deal expect to complete the deal in the next 24 hours.

edit - (although typical thats its a done deal while im writing a message)

but i dont get where all these transfer budgets estimation have come from because we had this in the summer & wilder said then that the money is there. espically with sell on fees for maguire & walker but he is careful with money because of his managerial career so far & only wants to spend money once. which i believe is a good idea just look at birmingham. they proves just because you got big transfer budget matters very little. harry redknapp spent near 15m in summer & they are currently 2nd bottom

I really don't think McCabe and the Prince will be that hands-on with transfers. We also have a head of recruitment - Paul Mitchell - who will work closely with Wilder and Knill to bring new targets in. I imagine the top table just approve the overall budget rather than every player we sign.

Although I don’t know much about him he’s at the right age for Wilder to work his magic on him, welcome aboard lad.

He did. I don’t believe him. How very convenient when he was embarrassed. He’s a Numpty.

Good interview from Evans tbf spoke as though he'd been at the club 6 months already.
Better than Wilson's anyway, he'll be getting a clip off Clayton, Clarke and Billy for calling them old!
