I really like the setup mid way through the second half, Bash played 10 times better than Evans in the holding role and we looked more fluid. The only problem with the formation is Clarke, who tonight looked woefull and old.

Not sure his distribution is up to it. Our most successful exponent of the anchor role is King Couttseh, and he’s a completely different animal to Leonard. The latter is better as one of the other midfield two as he can go box-to-box. Might have been worth a start today instead of Lunny.

Have to agree. Went in to these first two games worrying we might not be able to hold on to them (JOC and Fleck), but seeing their performances I'm not sure it even matters.

Cheers Wardy. I believe Wilder used to play 4-2-3-1 at Northampton. Maybe we'll see him change to that. For me the two existing wing backs don't offer enough going forward to merit not having wingers. That's not a dig at Baldock or Stevens who aren't Vas Borbokis wing backs or Wayne Quinn. They were both not great defensively but were that good going forward that we were still successful and it was very entertaining.
