I've seen a few posts from people saying to suspend the league whilst this is sorted , that won't happen because it has to finish on time so that next season can start on time, in order that it can then subsequently be suspended to shoehorn in a world cup in an Arab state that pumped billions into FIFA to stage it.

Although might not be popular in some situations thoses with backlogs could be able to decide to switch their FA Cup third round fixture to either the Friday night. The problem we have got is we play Wolves on the Sunday which has ruled out a fixture in the week of 10th. If we could play vs Wolves on Friday 7th we could then play a league game on either the Tuesday or Wednesday.

Easy situation... delay the start of the next season until January. Play just 23 matches until summer 2023, back to normal September 2023.

EFL clubs can't afford to lose 50% of their matchday revenue I'm afraid. Sponsors won't be too chuffed either.

Have a World Cup style EFL competition in October if time allows, over exposure etc

After they get the game postponed, what is the protocols?.
Do they go into isolation?. How many days?. And can they still train and hold team meetings. ? Pound to a pinch of snuff they'll all be as fit as a butchers dog when they return after isolation.

There's a very simple solution. Forfeit every game not played and 3 points to the side that tried to play
My employer has come up with a good solution. If you have had all the jabs available to you and you are off with COVID, you get full pay, if you haven’t, you get SSP only.
Maybe the EFL can do something similar; any squad where vaccinated players are below a certain percentage- and they are the ones calling for the match to be suspended, they forfeit the game.

A EFL report a few weeks ago said that 25% of players have said they will not get vaccinated and 31% had not had a first jab. If all those players were excluded from match squads and just use players whoe were vaccinated that would be interesting.

It's all going to end soon
Omicrom has nearly disappeared in south africa as it hits fast and fades away just as fast

It's only just strong enough to turn a test
positive. Provided youve had a jab of course

You do realise that having the jabs doesn't stop you getting it. Maybe reduces the chances but based on how many people I know who have had boosters and have had it recently, I'm not convinced it's that effective.

More about reducing symptoms.

Being double jabbed (so far) means you don't need to isolate.

I'm not sure your employer would be on solid ground fighting a claim.

Why, is that guaranteed?
Pretty much. We seem to be weirdly lucky only getting it in dribs and drabs. I have seen first hand how easy it is to spread among a group so kinda confused how it's been in our group but not spread so successfully.

Might as well cancel football forever then because Covid is never going to go away.
Well from my personal experience those already had it didn't catch it again my own personal super spreader event so i am hopeful this is a short term thing. Including my brother who caught COVID at least 6+ months before all of us did a few weeks ago so seems some sort of longer term immunity

Play 5 a side, 20 mins each way. Get 2 games a day in then which we will need in May. I'd have Foderingham, Osborn, Basham, MGW, Ndiayi, and Sharp in my starting 5. I think Osborn would be shit hot at 5 a side. No place MC burnie in my 5 a side squad though I think he'd be even worse at 5 a side than 11 a side.

The only issue I'd see with that, is your starting 5 is a 6.

I'm all for it if the ref doesn't notice though.

I don't support this whatsoever. This is under the "control" and "mandatory" bracket. You can't force something upon someone or use exclusion as a way to force them into doing something they don't want to do.

I've had COVID confirmed twice. As has people I know, some jabbed some not. I personally haven't had the vaccine.

Then why the fuck am I paying my council and income tax? Why do I have to have driving licence to drive or a passport to travel? Society has 100s of things forced on people that they don’t want to do. I hear this a lot, this notion of everyone should be able to do whatever they want, whenever they want. Everyone out for themselves, giving zero fucks about anyone, else sounds like a dystopian nightmare.

You're comparing paying council tax, being forced to learn to drive etc to having something physically put into your body, that you don't know the contents of. Sorry but this is NOT the same.

🤣 it’s unlikely that you know the chemical make of a shop-board Chicken Korma let alone any medicine you’ve ever taken. What’s in paracetamol? How do antibiotics work? How does metformin help diabetics? Just because YOU don’t know what’s in them or how they work doesn’t mean medical professionals, that have dedicated their working lives to their professions don’t.

Those come with leaflets with contents of what's in them. Can I get that leaflet for the vaccine? If so then that's fine. But again, you still get to choose whether to take Paracetemol/Ibuprofen/Anti-Biotics etc. They aren't forced.

I'm sorry but this is really out there in the false equivalency stakes.

Being able to demonstrate competency to drive a motor vehicle before you're allowed to do so, is rather different from being subjected to a medical procedure in order that you may do so.

I'm a bit of a loss as to why you'd think it's in any way similar?

And I would imagine that those who don't want this particular vaccine (I can't speak for anyone as I decided that taking the vaccine was in my best interests), are all people who pay their council and income tax.

It still needs to be explained to me, logically, how someone choosing not to have a Covid vaccine is in any way infringing my rights as a vaccinated person?
