Haha, you'd think he had with how it seems to be his fault.

I had plenty of ranting about this at the beginning of the season, but Clarke and Sharp don't work. They're far too similar, look for the same chances, passes, runs etc. Needs to be one of Sharp or Clarke and one of Done or Lavery imo.
 
United created enough chances to win 3 matches. I would say we missed the calming influence of Wright more than blaming the strike partnership. That daft goal probably put the wind up us.

Agree with that but we look disjointed to me up front with them two.

Good point, I may check that too. And I agree that he's been important to our good form.

The difference is Wright was injured for tonight, Clarke's return to the team was Wilder's choice. If he wanted to drop Done he had someone in fine scoring form in the shape of Scougall to bring in.
 
Done only runs around though doesn't he?

We have now secured a comfortable play off position since leaving him out.

I was wrong to say such a partnership should be given the chance to work.

I was 100% right to go against the idiotic anti-Matt Done bandwagon however. We missed him dearly tonight.
Looks like I was also right not to join in with the Golden Boy Paul Coutts circle-jerk too.
 



Clarke would be much better playing with Duffy and Chapman on his wings, he's a big forward and looks far better without sharp.
But Sharp looks better with Done, I'd like to see Sharp and Chapman next time please.

We controlled possession, we had chances.. I'm failing to see where Coutts is being blamed here? He wasn't as good as he has been the rest of the season, but neither were anyone else.

There's little doubt we missed Wright. He would have read that pass while the others were thinking about it but that doesn't mean we would have won tonight. Clarke is a decent striker in this league but it's blatantly obvious he and Sharp are not on the same wavelength. Let's get back to basics and go with the side that won 11 and drew 3. Done might not have been scoring but he played his part in a team that was. At the moment with Sharp and Clarke we aren't scoring full stop. Time to do what's right for the team and not individuals
 
When I stated, back in August, that Leon was wank, I was ridiculed.

Clarke won about 7 or 8 flick ons tonight which came to nothing. Bizarrely, Clarke and Done might have more chance of working but him and Billy certainly doesn't. Can't fault Clarke tonight but as others have said, possibly wrong time, wrong team for him.

Big decision for Wilder.

I agree. Both 6 foot 6 and both fecking useless at the moment

Not dissimilar to the Akinbiyi/Shipperley dilemma Warnock had. Akinbiyi had a consistently good scoring record, but for whatever reason it didn't click when he played. Do we continue, accepting that it could take time for the pair to gel, or to we revert back to an option that while not perfect was at least working for the team?

Tyler Durden I can't understand why you have dragged courts into this as he seemed to be one of the only ones to turn up today with Duffy been the other and possibly fleck as well but the rest was useless tonight. We should have walked that game again.

For me Clarke was much better than sharp for me today and that's saying some things as sharp is my favourite player and will openly admit it but he was awful today. Think our bad form these last couple of matches is not down to creating chances only burying them and sharp is going through a rough patch and can't seem to get it right and get the ball in the back of the net at the minute, this happened last season also. Agreed everyone has there bad games and what ever else but it maybe sharp should get dropped for a game and it might kick him back into gear some times its just what he needs worked last season when he was going through a drought he come back and wanted it and made it work. We could cope with him not scoring if we had another striker banging them in in times like this when sharp is struggling but we haven't. Done can't score, sharp and Clarke don't work at the minute not sure why, I don't think sharp wants it to work. And for some reason lavery doesn't seem to get a looking and neither does Chapman.

Has it occurred to you WHY the free scoring top scorer has suddenly dried up and looks far less effective overall offensively ?
