When you can see your troops are depleted and you've some young lads next to you in the trenches and you find another 50% and lead by example and carry your team with you, that's being a true leader.

Michael Doyle, you were superb tonight. Thank you.

Won the ball. Passed the ball. Covered every out of position player and did everything to allow the rest to play. Classy performance from him tonight. :)

Also went over to Kennedy early doors for an encouraging chat. Which is something he's been accused of not doing in the past.
Maybe Cloughies had a word and sorted that aspect as well?

Doyle's strutting around like he owns the middle of the park

You know what he does!

After backing him for so long I'm glad people are finally seeing the contribution he makes.

He has played well in in a good team performance
But he doesnt do it it when it really really matters when your captain should lead by example, when the chips are down, when we were not playing well he decided to bollock young players for making mistakes when we are losing or not playing well.suddenly when we are winning he gives out words of encouragement. I dont want players like that in my club
It a easy when you are you winning

People don't see him track a player for 80yrds & win the ball back. They bollock him for miss placing the pass... It's the easy thing to do. The common sense thing to do is realise that he's the only one willing to put in that effort to track back and his pass is miss placed because he's trying to do a 30yrd cross field pass to his nearest teammate because his team mates are lazy and haven't tracked back.. That is the difference.

Nigel Clough has now got the whole team putting effort in so Doyle can now do his proper job. Win the ball and play it 5yrds to Scougs, Coady, Baxter etc..

Doyle is looking better because his teammates are putting in nearly as much effort as he does.

That's when players need bollocking ,its a mans game ,no need for bollockings last night but there has been in the past.

There has been a very noticeable change in how he interacts with players. It is likely Nigel has had a word after his stupid sending off and also there are players no longer in the dressing room which has made Doyle's job easier.

For people to say Doyle has been doing all this stuff all along is poppycock, however kudos to him as he obviously feels more comfortable since the change in formation. Let us not forget alot of fans were livid that Doyle walked back into the team after his suspension (me included) but there is a very noticeable change in his demeanour since.

He has a chance of leading the team out of Wembley and he shouldn't forget the lads who got through both Fulham games without him.

I think his point is that he doesn't bollock the senior players like he does the youngsters. Maybe he thinks the older players shouldn't need one, however after Hill's first half display last night I am sure you will agree he needed one.

Good to see a positive change from Doyle - could it also be because his place in the team is under threat due to the quality of the players now available ?

Rufus.
