When was it?
Harry was a beast, a really strong guy and we WILL miss him. Not only for his defensive abilities, calmness under pressure, his assured nature but one point so far over looked on here; is as a goal scorer. At a corner/set piece he really was a handful with his presence. Every season he has got more and more dangerous in the opposition box. We've lost a player who potentially could get 5 to 8 goals a season. Interestingly Jack Charlton scored an average of one every 9 league games. Harry already is pretty close to that stat in his last 2 seasons.
Some muppet said this![]()
I thought you meant direct from a corner!![]()
Dave Unsworth v Derby(h) in Sept 2005? To my knowledge the other goals direct from a corner were Alan Woodward (v Newcastle h in Sept 1969, Leicester a in Sept 1971, Coventry h in Nov 1971 and Norwich h in Jan 1973) and Geoff Salmons (v Man City a in Mar 1974)
Unsworth blasted in the winner from close range after a scramble in the boxWasn't Unsy's late winner against Hull (when they had pulled it back to 2 2) that almost sealed promotion direct from a corner? My memory is hazy (I just remember going crazy) but I thought it was for some reason.
Didnt know that, cheers. I was at Blackpool that weekendThere is also Mark Dempsey's goal in the 3-2 defeat at Oldham in 1987-8. Big Stan (who also scored the other goal), swore he got a touch, but it was awarded to Dempsey.
