Landell has given zero toss since he's got his new contract at Wolves.

I don't think it's a lack of effort, he's struggled most of the time when he's played in the centre of a 3. He isn't actually that good truth be told. He's a big unit , is an asset on set pieces and on form he's good enough for League One but I'm glad we didn't pay silly money for him.

He's an out and out League One centre half . Nothing wrong with that as that's where we are but he's certainly not undroppable. He's having a really bad patch but I think a spell out of the side could be the best thing for him

No. he was suspect before. But he's now been at fault for about 5 goals in the last 3 games. I said this weeks ago when some on here were turning him into a cult hero and making up affectionate songs about him for Christmas. (Not heard anyone singing it since Christmas btw!).

Too quick to criticise and too quick to give adulation - we're all guilty of it at times as football fans.

I've said before we need a new centre half, or revert to a back 4 and put O Connell at centre half because he's by far the best centre half at the club and wasted at left back imo.

For the third time - fans should be careful what they wish for with EEL.

Really glad he's signed a 3 1/2 year deal with Wolves...the daft twats.

The back 3 should be Basham (AND, Basham - you STAY at the back and defend, Wright and JOC.

EEL's lack of football ability was evident a few months back.

All well and good to single out individuals for criticism, but who is playing well at the moment?

This dip in form from all the players is hard to explain.

Our back four are getting hit on the break more, as we allow teams to pass out from the back unopposed recently. EEL has always been slow with a big mistake in him. It's just that were seeing his weaknesses tested and therefore ultimately highlighted more. For this also se:e Basham, JOC, Moore and Coutts and Fleck (mobility and tracking runners for the latter two).

It was terrible defending by him. He could have just cleared it for a corner or a throw in. But unfortunately that's what happens with young inexperienced players. He's done well for us overall earlier in the season but he is having a bad patch right now. Sadly people have short memories. But maybe he needs a rest.

He cares. He showed that, but he was terrible tonight. One of the worst performances from a centre half in recent memory imo.

Personally I think he just needs a break from the starting line up and re-introducing when confidence re-appears in the team and we're winning again.

Fleetwood tonight really showed us how to defend.

He was shitting himself every time he got the ball.

He knows that we know he's not as good as we thought he was. He's known all along and he can't believe he's been getting away with it.

They were so much better than us defensively.

To repeat, FLEETfuckingWOOD were SO much better than us defensively. We got schooled by a non-league side, a bit like we were by Yeovil here in Danny Wilson's latter days. Tbf, they deserved to win by more.

Re: EEL - he desperately needs taking out of the firing line. We've got a squad (a big one now), it needs using.

EEL needs Jake Wright.
Nobody in that back 3 tonight can read the game properly. Wright organises and conducts the defence. It's no coincidence that we have not lost a game when he plays.

I'd have Wright (centre) and O'Connell (left) and one of Bash or EEL in there on the right. It matters not which one if Wright is playing as he eradicates their fuck ups by reading the game for them.

He's been utter garbage for weeks, but you could see how upset he was with himself tonight. There's no need for pricks chanting wanker at him either

"pricks chanting wanker" - that sounds like a self-fulfilling prophecy if ever I heard one?

I didn't hear any of that, but then again, I sit in the South Stand and we don't use such language in there you see. I don't think any player deserves that abuse from their own fans tbh. The way I see it honestly is this..

He's a big physical presence in defence. When we signed him he gave us something we haven't had since Harry Maguire left, in that respect. He joined the team at a time when we started on an incredibly successful run, which also coincided with the inclusion of Coutts and Fleck in that midfield. We've not just won games since then, but due to that excellent midfield, and I include Duffy in that (even though he was below par tonight) the lads at the back, including the goalkeeper, have had it pretty easy. We've dominated teams, not just beat them. But, of late, when teams have got a bit wise to us, especially those that are able to defend in numbers and launch rapid counter attacks, he's had a bit more to do. The cracks have started to show. He's not infallible by any means and to be honest, he's pretty average for League 1 - which is why he's playing here and not in the Championship.

I said when we were talking about trying to extend his loan a few months ago that I'd be pleased if we could do that - because I think continuity is also a good thing rather than keep disrupting the team with new players - but also that if he didn't sign I wouldn't be too disappointed because I didn't think he was anything special - just o.k. and doing a decent job.

O'Connell is a far better centre half imo. He wins every header that kid and can also carry the ball forward - whereas EEL is always keen to pass it sideways or lump one up front.

He's been at Wolves since he was 9 years old. They know all about him. They don't choose to play him in the Championship. We are now learning why.

I reckon EEL is suffering mentally. Honeymoon period has gone and he's struggling for that spark. Hopefully Wilder can sort him out.
