I think any criticism is harsh, but then some "supporters" boo our own players as they come onto the pitch 🤷‍♂️

Think the criticism of KG in this thread has been fair.
He's our 4th choice right back and he looked it.
Telling him he's great, was man of the match and is now a Championship standard full back is patronising and a lie.
However in the context that's he's just starting his pro career, he's doing a good job and needs our support.

It's the fashion these days to give polarised opinions.
A player was either brilliant or crap. What's wrong with saying Kyron played OK?
I noticed he didn't try anything ambitious, never went down the right wing attacking
He probably deliberately kept it simple to lower the risk of making Robsonesque and Eganesque mistakes.
It's a learning curve and he came through his home debut unscathed, so he's passed that test.

No one should ever boo our players coming onto the pitch......they are idiots.....it makes our player less likely to perform at their best.
Accept that McBurnie's playing ability seems to be going downhill but I do appreciate his attitude, working hard for our team.

He’s not a right back?

If he continues to improve, then it might save a summer signing if he can be Basham's understudy.

Very, very shaky first half, lost the ball numerous times and they attacked down his flank a lot. Slow to get back into position after attacking. Lucky to not get hooked at half time IMO. Much improved second half and as other said won his personal battles, and actually got us on the front foot a couple of times...
Aye
“Hook him” & replace with ……..?🤔

young lads will never get better without learning from mistakes
billy sharp in his first stint with us scored around 7 goals in a million matches
but he improved with experience

forest started this season with a lot of young lads and were awful to start with
but some now are much sought after. why theyve been played and learnt from their mistakes

I think Gordon has done more than ok, many of that age and experience would not look as comfortable as he has done in his last few games, he's done so well in my view thrown in the deep end and fair play for Hecky giving him the chance, even if that was because we were low on numbers, previously we may well have gone back to 4 at the back.

After a few mistakes early on, he has grown steadily more assured and I have been quite impressed. He was excellent on Saturday as well.

Lots of pressure on a young lad who is replacing a stalwart and crowd favourite, in a side chasing promotion. But he has done well.

There will be slip ups and more experienced opponents will mug him off from time to time, but this experience will be invaluable and he could be a key player going forward.

I would love to see Lopata blossom alongside him, especially if Egan is sold in the summer.

He looks steady and is getting better game by game but he needs to be more aware of where his man is. He tends to drift and let the player he's supposed to be marking get away from him. That header that the Barnsly player headed over that he should have scored, was KGs man who had drifted off him by a yard or two

He's 19, got a lot of his family and friends in the stands, he's going to be nervous to a certain extent, looking not to make a mistake, especially in what was his Lane debut. Give him some settling in time and he'll learn about the players around him and the ones he's up against.

He's looked better than some of the 'top 6' young loan players we've had in the past

That might be the approach we have to take, particularly if we don't go up and end up skint. Also gives the young lads a bit of a boost knowing that they'll get their chance at some point in games that are meaningful.

The likes of Gordon, Ndiaye and RND have made the step up and done a good job. Others might be out of their depth at Championship level but the same could be said of young lads in Premier League academies too.

Precisely, and even having 2 academy players a year be in the squad would be excellent, and a cost effective way of progressing the team while developing our own assets. Problems may arise if you're shoe-horning in 5 or 6 academy players into the first team, when most of them blatantly aren't ready.

Good luck to him.

For some reason he didn't really seem to kick on this past 12 months.

No real spots available at centre half for the first team and it didn't appear his loan to Boreham Wood created any opening.

He's doing the right thing, looking to get regular football and develop himself.

I'm not sure why he stalled but he looked panicky when he played. Unsurprisingly moving on but has the attributes to make a decent career for himself.

"Prove a few people wrong"

Lol we will see but I don't imagine a career above L2 for young Kyron. (Which is decent)

Once saw him in down town and he did think he was big time bollocks with drinks and the lasses.

Anyways good luck to lad and family. His dad is a Spurs fan and came to Spurs away with us in Prem.

The strange thing is he always look so calm and assured in the development teams, it was one of his best attributes.

It's a shame that Kyron and his brother haven't kicked on after showing some really promising signs as they were coming up.
