Following Chris Wilders thinly veiled jokey 'come and play for us' comments, I wonder how jokey it actually was.
He seems to have lost his first choice status to the excellent Cancelo, so what if ?
I've seen him play this season and he seems to have lost that superfast marauding style that he once had, and I'm not even sure that he would displace Baldock right now. However, he could possibly displace Bash next season as an overlapping centre back ?
Money wise, not sure how much City would want for him, but at 29, let's assume affordable. Wage wise, my understanding is that Jags is on £50k but for this season only, so quite a bit could be freed up there.
Would you do it , assuming Kyle would be agreeable obviously ?

At 29/30 your still gonna be looking at £20 mil + depending on his contract situation. Even if (and we wouldn't) his contract puts him out of reach. He was the worlds most expensive defender and had a contract upgrade since he signed there. I'm afraid it will be another 2/3 before he becomes a possibilty and by then will we want him ?

Wasn't this about Kyle NAUGHTON. Not walker?

Someone's been editing the thread title... 😂

How was Cancelo today? Didn't watch it.

All in, i'm lead to believe that KW grosses over £250k a week at Man City. I suspect even with our loosened wage structure, we'd struggle to accommodate him.

My daughter did some care work for his grandad recently and asked if he was coming back , he said that was the plan

Lost his place to Cancelo? On what basis? A start against Fulham in the FA Cup?

He’s still very much their first choice RB.
Only started one of last six league games.

He may well come back but no way that will happen for a couple of years unless he's shut out at City.

I believe hes stated in the past that he wants to finish his career at the Lane. Whether we'd want him at that stage is another matter, his pace is what gets him out the shit quite often so when that's gone what's left?

He'll have early stages of dementia before we can afford him.

No chance of this happening whilst KW is still in contact at Man City. I think he's contacted through to 2023 or 2024 by which time he'll be pay his best.
