No way he’d have forgone playing champions league football and England to drop to the championship.

He was a regular and captain at Man City, he moved to Milan and then only signed for Burnley when they went up.

I don’t know when he would’ve manufactured a move to united unless we’d beaten Sunderland in the Play off final. The PL season under Hecky we were paying peanuts and selling our best players when we went up

I’d have loved to have seen him at the lane again but it’s just not worked out. He would’ve been a good signing for us this summer if Burnley released him and we had the cash for wages / he dropped his wages. It wasn’t happening

He's pretty much won everthing , apparently worth around £20m and will have a heck of a pension - and hes on the bench at turf Moor.

The most dedicated professionals ( with the exception of very few) must start to lack the same motivation as they once did .

He probably needs a move , a project or whatever somewhere.
