No ITK but my spurs pal messaged me to say congratulations on our couple of signings and reckons if they get another one in then they are loaning us the young right back. Can't see it myself but would be good based on him being MOM v Newcastle on the opening day.

Can't see that at all.

If Baldock carries on from his performance on Tuesday, that'd potentially see Freeman as third choice.

That simply wouldn't be right.

Quite the opposite. We should always be looking to sign players that would push our current ones down the pecking order; otherwise what's the point?

I agree, though the wording I would use, particularly under Wilder is that he wants new players to challenge the current team. If that pushes them down the pecking order then so be it

Either way we're looking to bring young and exciting players in both permanently and on loan and not just old cart horse mates of the manager like we saw under Adkins

Isn't Lundstram a cart horse?

I read it on here he was.

With new signings that's fine.
Maybe not so when the player pushed down the order is still there when the loan heads back to their parent club?

This isn't wrong, I've read on here that because we did so well last year we shouldn't strive to improve in the slightest.

In a world where we can make limitless signings and have an infinite wage budget, or the parent club paid all wages, I 100% agree. However, given that signing a right back would more than likely have the opportunity cost of losing out on another outfield player it would be a no from me. We have two good players competing for a shirt, it is the very bottom priority for me.

Could have some truth if there's any truth in that Hudds are after Freeman.

No chance of Spurs letting him out on loan. They are in the champions league and need as many players as they can get. He will play plenty of first 11 matches for them and as said by other right back or right-wing back is currently one of our strongest positions.

Can't they only register 25 players? Or does that not include youth?

Agree, but I would have worded it.... The current squad have to be aware that unless they improve to meet the challenges of the championships demands in an ever increasing pool of tallent and financial risk we will f**k them over and buy a cheaper better model. A bit like having a wife.

This is what pisses me off and is a huge problem for the national side. Why don't they play him in their first team get the experience he needs and improve himself as a player. How many times have we seen a young English talent been sent out on loan, done well and never got a shot at the first team when back. Teams these days go forking out ridiculous amounts for players and they've already got them on their fucking doorstep in their academies.

Walker-Peters is being kept out the Spurs team by an English player, how is that bad for the national team?

I understand your point, but it is a very complex issue with many aspects to it. The same accusation can be arguably pointed at United and our academy?

Agree we should look for continuous improvement but I'm not clear that KWP would be an improvement on what we have.

Maybe he has more potential but right now? Not so sure.

Freeman is doing well IMHO and Baldock looks absolutely in the right mould.

Would make sense for Spurs to loan once Aurier is in but I would say this would not really fit in with the positions Wilder has highlighted.

We have other priority positions other than wing backs on both sides to worry about?
