Rubbish move:( I had/still have high hopes for this lad. Looks very dangerous the times i've seen him.

I am quite sure that KB likes pacy players. Just that I think Blackwell hadnt seen enough of Reid before signing him and then realising that he isnt good enough at this level

Silent, I think he wouldn't mind his players being able to run faster, but if we're going to evaluate a manager's preferences, then surely we must judge on the squad and teams that he selects. We have two attacking players in the squad with any kind of pace.

Now we are another man light with little hope of anyone coming in before 5pm monday. Round and round we go, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

Hardly a man light since he's not been a regular in the squad - KB has signed Yeates in any case.

NW did the same too. Remember Kristian Rodgers, Lee Baxter, Alan Fettis, Dries Bousatta, Barry Hayles and there were many more of his signings that didnt come off well

The only one of those that was ever talked up as being a genuine first team contender was Hayles, and he saw sense enough to get rid sharpish and ensure we got our money back on Hayles. The other difference is we actually saw Hayles play!! Compare that with a young winger that was talked up as being a major signing, who himself said he picked us over other clubs because we'd be able to offer him regular first team football. Not exactly the same as Dries Bousatta is it?

Thought Reid was probably the best player on the park at Sincil Bank pre-season (tho Bromb scoring his 100th goal of the pre-season campaign was quite special too :D)

I would like to think that this is more to do with him struggling to settle oop north - he's still pretty much a youngster after all.

Think he probably is good enough for CCC - but whether he's another Billy and will only perform at another club and under a different style of play seems more the question.

There were plenty of NW's failed signings and I named about 10% of them in my previous post. I remember him saying of Iffy Onuora, "best ever Bosman signing!"

What a waste of time he was then.

Another great signing brought to you by Kevin Blackwell.

Thats low level stuff compared to Warnock's bigger money and more expensive signings of Ahmed Fathi, Luton Shelton, Ashley Ward, Ade Akinbiyi, Geoffrey Horsfield, and Danny Cullip.

Bah, if his season hadn't been tragically cut short by injury he and Asaba would have forged an unstoppable partnership! :)

I was naming just a few as I couldnt be arsed to list all of his bad buys

I think it's a little unfair to lump the first two in with the other three - both were signed as players for the future (i.e. a 2nd season in the Prem), and their career prospects at United were clearly altered the minute NW left. Fathi has continued to play well for Egypt from what I've seen of him in the last two African Nations.

Ade, whilst not being great, and not someone I was happy to see us sign, did have the odd decent moment to help us up - the goal at Hillsborough I'll remember for a long time. Was he worth the fee though? Probably not.

The other three were all poor signings yes. For every Cullip though, there's a Chris Morgan (signed for nowt) or a Derek Geary (signed for £25,000) - I'd say on the whole NW got more value out of the bargains than he lost in poor signings.
