Balham posted the stats for the last 12 games. If we had beaten Oxford and Plymouth, which ANY FUCKING promotion chasing side should have done then we'd have been looking a hell of a lot better than we did that season.

I realise the final table looked like those games didn't matter in the end but they 100% mattered as our collapses in those games gave Leeds and Burnley the breathing space they needed to finish the season strong as they had no pressure on them.

If we'd have won those 2 then the pressure would have been on.

The overall wage bill for that year was £46m. The wages figure for 25/26 isn’t yet available but 85% of £30m is £25.5m. With 24/25 admin costs of £18m you can see the issues facing the owners. The conversation may have taken place as far back as January I.e. we’ll go and get Phillips to give an outside chance of making the play offs but if it doesn’t happen then we will need to be making attempts to realign expenditure with income where possible.

It may be that McSheffrey and Collins were on multi-year contracts and Knill and Ramos were up so they are the ones that are easier to make the save.

We already foresee saves on the playing side. Perhaps the coaching side also takes the hit?

To bring this back on topic a little, the results and whether we had a dip or not are a deflection from a bigger issue under the CWAK era. we were repeatedly told by CW about 'a proper Sheffield United performance' and how important that was to him and the 'punters'.

In the last two years, that's been proved insubstantial and hollow times many and I'd wager we have rarely seen any such performances since our first stint in the PL when we got into the top half for a while, after which we lost our way.

From then, it's been used as a hook in interviews and pressers without being consistently backed up by what we see on the pitch. We've become a boring, sterile, play it safe club that has no identitfiable playing style, other than boring, sterile and play it safe.

Hopefully, COH can bring in a coach to replace AK and light a fire under Wilder's backside to sort the fitness out and bring us on. Without that, it's another season of chest beating, rhetoric and shallow promises.

I won't hold my breath on that wish though.

You said “posts”. If you can’t be accurate about what you claim to have said then we’re really wasting each others - and everybody else’s - time. Are you commenting on the claim that l laughed at the cunt post or just swerving it? Personally, l think accuracy when claiming posters have said xyz is a reasonable starting point when people disagree.

To 31/12 l believe we achieved around 2.4 points per game ( l actually suggested 8.5/10 for Wilder up to the drop off) January onwards around 1.6. That period includes 3 consecutive defeats against teams virtually everyone would have expected to beat. To me that’s a drop

I’m not a big user of FB or X and have seen many examples of hate on there. On here it’s mainly unsubstantiated claims save for one c*** and one ham faced dinosaur . But rather than keep asking me, show some of the many examples you claim. It really is that simple.

That was only a short term deal until the end of last season under Michael O’Neill - who has now left. So Jones is likely to be free to join Wilder if we want him.
