Killa

I think more needs to be done to say no to any offers that come in.

The way McCabe was going on the other week he was almost saying that the player and agents are in control and their is little a club can do to keep players.

I'd pretty much say he was spot on. Or did Man Utd pussy out on the Ronaldo deal as well?

I couldn't believe they'd sell Beattie at a loss, but they did.

I couldn't believe they'd sell both of our best young players at the same time, but they did.

Mr McCabe said at the fan's forum that he "hoped" Kilgallon would be a Blades player by 1 September.

According to further comments from Mr McCabe at the forum, if a player or player's agent wants the player to move, United are completely powerless and unable to prevent the player leaving, despite said player being under contract.

Given these facts, I would not be at all surprised if Kilgallon leaves before the transfer deadline.

Revolution's spot on in my opinion .

There's been lots of post event rationalisation in the last couple of years that appears to trip over itself.

I dont think Kev McC's a bad guy and like most people applaud him for what he's done , however he seams to make all decisions on a commercial basis. ( good for him some might say) but rarely admits to it.

Blackwell knows not to bite the hand that feeds so will have his little moan and get on with it. Good cop - Bad cop routine , just keep changing roles.

Neither are the bad guys - They're doing stuff based on Info few people are party to. Happens in all walks of life , just feels bad when its your football club.
Business decisions and emotion don't mix

If Killa or any one else leaves we just move on - how it is i'm afraid

He's pretty much spot on, they can try, but ultimate the balance of power is with the players, agents and bigger clubs.

Look at Man U and Everton as recent examples.

Everton took the "just say no" approach with Lescott, not currently doing them much good is it? :)

In the good old days the clubs decided which players they wanted to sign and which ones they wanted to get rid of. The dawn of the Sky era and the birth of the PL shifted the balance completely to the player, or more accurately the agent! Even the bigger clubs are held to ransom by players and agents, so clubs like us don't stand a chance!

Perhaps it's true that all clubs give in in the end, but there are few that are willing to part with their prize assets as quickly as us, or so it would seem. Maybe we're not actually much bigger than Crewe when it comes down to it - a feeder club for anyone who wants our players...

How long has Ronaldo been linked away from Man Utd?

They've kept hold of him for a long time when all rumours were circulating he wanted to leave.

I believe they made a deal with Ronaldo last summer to say, stay with us one more season and you can go to Madrid if an acceptable offer comes in.

Well they've managed to get another £7 million on top of the original bid if rumours are to be believed.

I don't think it is to do with the sky/PL balance that has changed the shift in power.... the start obviously came with the Bosman ruling.... but this has just made it worse - maybe like a snowball effect.

As I say, anything above £3 million with a good sell on clause then I'd be very tempted to sell Killa. If we'd have been smart we would have sorted Davenport coming to as part of the Kyle deals.

He'll go, if he wont sign a contract now he's unlikely to later, so if 4m comes in i say take it even though he's our best defender and a quality one at that, because we'll get alot less in january..

If killa means we get promoted he's worth a lot more than 4m.

I would keep him and he might have a change of heart if we go up.

I've said before it will be interesting to see what happens with Killa, for me its similar to the situation with Brown a while back. So will we sell now and dismantle one of if not the best defence in the league. Or bottle it and sell on the cheap in January. Or gamble on him going on a bosman and push for promotion with him in the side. The sale of the Kyles was inevitable for me, but losing Killa would be a massive kick in the happy sacks for me.

Noticed Bob the Builder was at the Watford match, sat near the front of the directors box. Perhaps his wallet was too heavy to drag up the steps to towards the back [allegedly].

if killa goes bromby is no way half as good as killa. If he goes we will not even finish in top 6. And what united don't understand is that keep your best players if you want to get back in top flight.

I'd agree that Bromby isn't a good enough replacement for Killa, but to say Uniited don't understand that keeping you best players is the key to getting promoted is at best naive. Its well documented elsewhere that players and agents have the power now. If a player wants to go he pretty much can, and theres not much we can do about it. If you want to blame someone blame the PL, Sky, and a certain Mr. Bosman.

Killa to Wigan. Brown back as part of deal?? Maybe Stephen Quinn's got another brother who's a centre half that Blackwell likes the look of!!!!!!!

Apparently Lescott has had a medical at Man City today (SSN). This could be v v bad for us. Maybe Everton in for Killa, or Everton in for Taylor from Newcastle, Newcastle in for Killa? Either way it could be bye bye.

I was fine with the Kyles going but if we sell Killa I will be fuming.

Killa has been 9/10 in every match so far IMHO

£4M or please keep him till the end of the Season

It could trigger a transfer chain and hopefully we are not the club desperatly spending the last week of the transfer window trying to get a replacement.

If Lescott is worth £22mil then we should atleast get more than £12mil for Killa.

Being a part-timer nowadays, I don't get the opportunity to watch Kilgallon that often, but having watched him on Saturday, I can't believe there is a better centre half in our division. He was immense. I don't think he gave a foul away the whole game, yet was always making tackles and always in the right position. Regardless of what he's worth, selling him will be a massive blow to our promotion chances.

No way Jose!

Anyone else who was at the game on Saturday...

Did you notice him at the end? He'd had a cracking game, but he wasn't coming over to the fans. Blackwell made him come over and clap us.

I thought that was a sign that he could be on his way, although I may be reading too much into it.

Don't players usually spend longer clapping fans if they're going, not being forced to clap them?

Perhaps reading too much into it.

You never know with us as its not like we ever get much of an update from the club regarding these matters.

Killa To Wigan

It would not surprise me that Wigan are in for him. Whenever Martinez was a summariser on our games on Sky last year he was always very positive about Killa as one of the best defenders in the division.

Cannot see him staying, given he is in the last year of his contract. Only have to hope that people prefer Wheater in the centre back merry go round and Killa signs a new contract if he does not go before Monday next week.

Wigan's 5-0 thumping on Saturday was a terrible result for us and as you say SUA, Martinez is a big Killa fan.

Undisclosed deal with Ben Watson coming the other way would be my guess at this stage.
