Looks like we are going the experienced route, rather then the up and coming with potential.

Could go either way but no resale value.
There's two things that create a resale value.
1) A player does extremely well in his first season or season and a half and gets sold quickly if the interest in him is high.
2) A player is given a new lengthy contract on higher wages after having a good season or two before he gets into that dreaded last season/season and a half.

We don't earn enough on transfer fees with players good enough to go higher because the contract is always neglected until the last minute, then we scratch about with a half arsed offer whilst another club can pinch him for practically nothing just by paying him properly. And the excuse is always the same "Well, we tried, but what can you do"

Aye
Best flog Arblaster afore February then !

If this goes ahead I will be more than happy .

Within our price range and wage structure , I struggle to think of another striker who can potentially offer us as much as this lad .

He is very good in the air , far better with the ball at his feet than often given credit for and has a natural strikers ability to be in the right place at the right time and stick the ball in the net .

In addition , wherever he has played he has always shown a level of determination and commitment to the cause that in the past were a typical hallmark of many Blades strikers , but which in recent times have been noticeably lacking from a number of them .

He’ll do for this season so he will, guarantees some goals and will be able to hold the ball up. Would like to see some yooth up top next to him so I would.

For someone who's game isn't about acceleration and pace, I think his age is less important. If anything he will probably be someone that's constantly getting stronger through gym work throughout his career, a bit like Billy did

I’m sure I’ve seen on one of those statty pages on X that he’s the only player with better aerial stats than McB at Championship level.
I think he’s a striker who will almost certainly get us 15 goals next season.
Yes I saw this too. Mcburnie is amazing in the air and Moore is supposedly better.

IF this goes through, then well done United and possibly lesson learned.

IF Oli is dragging his feet over his contract offer, at least we have someone in to replace, instead of last seasons mess where we waited and waited for contracts to be signed, only for the players to move on and leave us in a very big hole.

Credit where credits due (in my opinion).

They both played in the same team against us for Barnsley when they beat us 3-2 in 2017/18
Good fact!

They only won two more games with them starting together and Barnsley were relegated that season.

A few years on, they'd be a threat aerially of course, but wouldn't complement each other in other aspects of the game.

We had two big men up front when Brian Deane played with Alan Cork and later Jan Åge Fjørtoft and Gareth Taylor, but Deano's all round game was so good he could play with most strikers.

Id prefer someone with pace alongside Moore, Brewster might actually be a good partner. You know the rest!

Was thinking the same... based on ability and fitness levels over a whole season I'm 70-80% confident that Moore will hit double digit goals for us this season.

Based on ability and fitness levels over a whole season, I'm only about 50% confident Mcburnie would hit double digit goals this season.

Based on that, I'm going to say this is an upgrade for a much cheaper outlay.

yes agree booker said same on another thread although brewster to be succesful here is a long shot im hoping we bring another pacey striker in though

If dirty Leeds fan views are anything to go by, this is the signing they wanted to see up top. One said he "Made the difference for Ipswich after Christmas" and "was the reason they got promoted."

I think it would be very very good
Until Wilder spent the Premier League years trying to turn McBurnie into Jon Parkin, being a target man wasn’t McBurnie’s game at all.

He was more of a player that would take the ball from a little deeper.

There is a goal against Wednesday he scored which epitomes this.
