We could do a lot worse than putting in a cheeky bid for James Hanson. He doesnt score a lot but by f**k does he win his aerial battles; gets about the CBs and can play a bit. Huge improvement on Sammon and Higdon in my opinion.

Urgh. Absolutely not.

we also have another posibility scoring goals at Northampton at 18 years old 6'1 and can win headers and score from them something sammon cannot do is this lad the solution instead of getting a new tall striker into the team or do what Adkins did at Southampton and use the academy to our benefit

Our academy is nowhere near as good as Southampton's was then. Especially recently.

it isnt but its still got some talented players there and we need to use it
Oh I agree on that. Can't understand why the lad Emmanuele Adebowale (have you seen the size of him?) and Jake Wright aren't in the side. If Louis Reed's quality is anything to go by these two should at least be in the squad. Preferably instead of Reed.

would probably use julian banton as well seems like a good young cb might be worth a first team call up wins headers and quite good with corners bout same age as k wallace and the his talent is already showing if we cant get a cb in january then surely this lad should have a call up or adebowale as well as an option

His physical stature alone would be of benefit. I'd quite happily swap Collins and McEveley for Banton and Adebowale. We don't seem to be calling many up from the academy recently and I'm struggling to understand why. Especially when the first team squad is at such a low in terms of quality.

He still might be. I'm not quite sure what's happening with him at the minute. McNulty is good enough for the level we find ourselves, Diego obviously isn't as he hasn't proved anything as of note yet, i'll stick by my assertion that i think Diego will make the grade.

McNulty has clearly scored goals in this league, why is that so hard to see.

Just because someone doesn't get a chance from a manager you see that as nailed on failure, i don't, because i know, like myself they are human beings who can get things wrong.

I have never once come out with told you so posts, i'm not that kind, there really is no need for them and there is still time for things to change, you're better than that BW.

Was more a light hearted dig than anything else Wiz. Fact is none of us know the real reasons McNulty isn't getting a chance. If he were the next great hope don't you think Adkins and Clough before would have used him? You have to say there has to be some problem if two managers can't find room for him. Now, Adkins may just be getting him sharp for the second half of the season and this may have been a master stroke but I really think it more likely he will be gone in January.

For the record I do see something in him but perhaps that isn't enough. Football is more a team game now than before and just being able to score goals doesn't seem to be enough.

We have a player on our books, scoring goals for Pompey.

He played in a 2 at Livingston and has never been given a chance at SUFC to play in a 2 up top.

He is OUR player and was misused (totally) by Clough as a substitute 1 up top when Cloughs "chosen" BIG man (who ever it was) wasn't available, was injured or NC has just had another paddy with Mcnuts.

Adkins has summarily decided not to use Mcnuts, or give him a decent chance up top this season.

We have to suffer an apparent championship player getting slagged off ever time he plays (which is no doubt damaging his already fragile temperament) whilst a goal scorer (IMHO) is proving it at Pompey .

OK, so Mcnuts might have a problem - can't be as bad as the "many" chances a certain Mr Baxter has had.

It might not work, but as we saw yesterday - every mother and his dog has had a chance with Adkins - why not Mcnulty?

The best natural goal scorer we have in this club - and that includes a certain Mr Sharp.

UTB

But he's a bad apple in the barrel (dressing room) we have enough of the knob head antics with Baxter!

  1. Social withdrawal
  2. Anxiety and emotional turmoil
  3. Lack of social skills and self confidence. Depression and/or bouts of sadness
  4. Less social conformity
  5. Eating disorders
  6. Inability to accept compliments
  7. An Inability to see yourself 'squarely' - to be fair to yourself
  8. Accentuating the negative
  9. Exaggerated concern over what you imagine other people think
  10. Self neglect
  11. Treating yourself badly but NOT other people
  12. Worrying whether you have treated others badly
  13. Reluctance to take on challenges
  14. Reluctance to put yourself first or anywhere.
  15. Reluctance to trust your own opinion
  16. Expecting little out of life for yourself.
  17. We watch the Blades and so far this season we have scored 1 goal or less 14 times.

What's wrong with me?

Adams?
Done?
Sammon?
Diego?
Higdon?
Baxter?
DCL?

What a depressing list of players :(

I can't disagree with that, all I'd say is he obviously needs managing right like he is at the minute, Adkins could have pulled a masterstroke off with them getting him fit for us, I for one really hope so because I'd rather have him as an option here for when Billy runs out of steam, which he certainly will do if he keeps at the same pace he is in games currently. We need more options all over the pitch tbh.

McNulty is staying with Pompey to the end of the season so that can be put to bed.

Sharp is our best striker and needs to play as the poacher. He gets his goals in the 6 yard box. That's the role McNulty plays, only he's worse at it. Sharp is on for 20 goals this season.

We tried to play Sharp and Beattie with the former playing a supporting role and the latter playing the poacher role and it didn't work for Sharp. Sharp can only play this role. McNulty and Sharp won't work together. I'm amazed anyone thinks otherwise.

I think McNulty has potential and the loan at L2 level will do him good. Good luck to him. But I'd rather have Done or Sammon with Sharp, simply because McNulty and Sammon won't work.

Sharp has clearly changed his game nowadays compared to when playing with Beattie, i personally think that if Billy was as good back then at playing the link up role as he is now then they could have formed an unbelievable partnership. Billy has upped his all round game tremendously since last time he was here and i admit i didn't want him back, i give him huge credit for that.

McNulty has all but gone now so we move on but that must free up some space for someone to come in now he has gone for the season? Lets hope that person can score at the same rate as McNulty can.

Because he's not good enough. He's scored 6 in 11 at Pompey and probably found his level. He is a decent finisher but he offers little else.

We can do better than McNulty and I hope we're out there trying (though we won't be).

Solution, get rid of all the crap you mentioned above and if possiable buy a decent forward>Are you in Love with McNulty he is just as crap as the above thats why hes on loan, my god you will be telling us next that you say yours preys every night and wish he would return to save us because you can not live without him. Get real hes no good sorry to disallusion you

I suppose it all depends on whether you have actually seen him play?

plus the recent "vote" on Mcnuts does not back up your theory - sorry to disappoint you.

Trouble is you just think he is a great prospect and no one else believes this. Do you really believe Mcnutts would have scored 4 yesterday? plus he is just not a team player and we are at least becoming something like a team that knows a little about eachother and he is just FAR TOO LAZY. especially to fit in to an Adkins team.

Don't kid yourself - there are plenty who want him back - see below

So Reed being a good young player is reason to believe that Adebowale and Wright will be good players and as such they should displace Reed the central midfielder even though they are a CB and ST respectively? How much have you seen of either?

Spoken to any Portsmouth fans, recently?

I love comprehensive surveys.
Lets look at it this way. If he'd never signed for us, then most if not all would be wanting him to come to be given a chance and we'd all want him to score loads and become a hero.
Now we've all seen him some think like you and some like me.
There is however another point. Think of a striker who everyone thought was rubbish then turned out to be a hero before he became a victim of his own stupidity.
Now without the last bit if he came back and scored loads, I'd be happy to humble my self before thee. I just don't see it though.
