Admitted the academy has been a dissapointing failure so far and that its something they are looking at, also admitted that billy sharp is proving them wrong and selling him was maybe a mistake.

At least somebody is not afraid to tell it like it is.

Can be listened again on the South Yorkshire website.

So he didn't actually admit it was a failure then :)

I think the main thrust of what McCabe said throughout the program was that he's not satisfied with where we are as a team or club and wants to improve everything.

I'm happy with that!

Rather than "discuss" exact words and meanings I think we should all accept that the man we have in charge is the right man.

kevin mccabe is a legend,he is about the only person at sufc who admits to these sort of things and has really built the club up over the last few years

He's definiteley the right man, he wants United to be the best on and off the field as we all do.

With him in charge the future looks bright because he won't accept 2nd best.

No, i said that. Made it sound more dramatic.

Selling billy sharp was a COMPLETE shocker, scunny will probably get a million quid for a player we sold for 100k.

Kev McCabe is awesome.

Now all we need is a manager at his level.

He also said some very nice things about Warnock as well.

Without wanting to re-open the debate... he wanted to be in the first team week in, week out or he was off, would you have prefered we threw him straight in at that time and gambled on an untried youngster gaining us promotion? He's still unproven in the league below us, never mind the league we are currently in.

Without doubt he's currently a good goalscorer at the level he's at, but from what i've seen, his strike partner looks better.

Yes i would have prefered we threw him in the deep end, and im sure most blades would have wanted to see a 17 year old true blade scoring for fun at every level he's ever given a chance over Danny Cadermarteri and Ashley ward:)

It was fairly obvious we wouldnt get promoted with the team we had. I cant blame him for wanting to be given a chance.

McCabe did also say some good things about neil yes. McCabe also seems to favour Forte out of all the younger players.

Every club lets players go who then go on to prove them wrong.

Good luck to the lad I say.

When put like that I tottally agree.

Of course we'd have loved to have seen that, whether or not it'd have happened is another matter.

The match 3 days before we sold Billy Sharp we played Shipperley, Kabba and Webber.

Ashley Ward had retired months earlier, Cademarteri sold a few months before.

It just so happened we then went on the be promoted, but it was obvious that we wouldn't ;)

Cademarteri went last year while Sharp was scoring for fun at rushden. He could of been played it was the 2004/2005 season and we were going no where. This was before we got shipps in and it was while kabba was out. Maybe he has found his level perhaps although im sure he would do just as well at any level. 33 goals in like 57 appearances cant argue with that really. Certainly will be a player that will come back to haunt us.

How many goals do you reckon sharp would have got for us last season id he was regualry played? Id guess at alot more than 10, fox in the box type of player.

Anyway i agree, lets put an end to the sharp argument. We possibly made a big mistake, lets leave it at that.

I hope so.

McCabe who you quoted in this thread also mentioned the "unrelenting critisism" by fans when mistakes are made.

For what its worth I thought Mr Mcabe was as open and honest as any Football Chairman is ever going to be. I took heart for his willingness to go on a show like Football heavan and field any questions and lets face it he has been at the helm of a minor miricle and BDTBL.

These are good times and long may it continue.

One can always debate the selling of players and who should have done what and what a success so and so is, but its life, it happens. We are in the Premier League.

Wise words my friend!

The good think about Kevin McCabe isn’t that he was on Football Heaven this week, I mean he was never going to get a rough ride was he? We’re in a great financial position, we got promoted, we just won. But the fact that Kevin McCabe has been very open with the fans in the past when things haven’t been going well. He doesn’t shirk the tough questions, when there are tough questions to be answered.
