surprised to find him on the list , looks like hes missing out at wolves would not be adverse to him taking over, has the right demeanour and has been reported to have had 2 interviews along with southgate and morgan according to the Star

apparently not
Owen Coyles hot favourite stopped taking bets

Jackett is heavily odds on with every bookmaker (most interestingly he's 1/3 with Coral whose head football compiler is a Wolves fan and has tweeted 'looks like the Jackett thing is real'), Coyle is 8/1

FFS, let this be true and lets stop these terrible rumours of "another Blade from Port Vale" being in the frame for the job.

If Jackett does figure and by some miracle, is appointed, I'd happily give him a lift up to Sheffield on a Friday night and drive him back on a Sunday night without asking for petrol money. He'd have to make his own way home from Canary Wharf though. ;)

Agreed, this Page business is an absolute joke - I'm still vainly clinging to some tidbit of hope that Jackett would be insane enough to come here, but common sense always gets the better of me :(

UTB!

So we tried on a Jackett and couldn't cut our cloth accordingly

Just about sums it all up

Even if Wolves do get Jackett, that means that Steve Davis and Owen Coyle are still available. Both are vastly better options than Robert Page.
Davis fits all the criteria that people are using to justify Page being given the job. Young, fresh ideas, knows the lower leagues with the obvious advantage that he's actually been a successful manager and won a promotion.
You're not telling me, that Sheffield United, even with a reduced budget, isn't a step up from Crewe!

Wilder, Slade, Tisdale, Dean Smith they're all better options than Page would be.
What are people thinking? Has a collective madness set in!?

not on BBC or Sky as of 12.05

Sky Sports Radio presenter (and Blades fan) Jamie Fletcher posted in his Twitter that Jackett is the new Wolves manager, they are just waiting for the official statement from the club. It may turn out to not be true, but he seemed certain.

Blow - thought he was our best candidate

Sew bad, Ken. Tailor made for a well suited resposte and you dressed it badly.

It's a thread I have been considering for some time now SEB, he's another one to chalk off, for sure.
I knew that of all people you, being as sharp as a button, would have a swatch of pre meditated responses.

With no Jackett collared on this occasion our choices seem a bit like cotton in the wind and we will innevitably be left with the tailor's dummy. So I guess the panel will have to roll up their sleeves, possibly taking a different tack now, maybe dart in another direction? I always get the impression they are trying to pull the wool over my eyes even though I appreciate it's pretty much the same as trying to find a needle in a haystack, ah-hem.

My advice? Zip it Shorty.

I hope that Shorty tag is an ironic one. There's a 35" inside leg here!

Yeah. I heard that was just the leg SEB ;)

But no offense meant big feller - just another groanful pun to conclude a diatribe of dubious content

Don't set Curtis on me will ya?

Kenny!! You've chosen Wolves!! Was it because I was gonna drop you off at Canary Wharf? Gutted mate. :(
