Good God! Only Blades could be pissed off about going up, 'cos they're worried about next season. Under Wilder, the promotion season was better, I suppose everyone agrees with that. But analyse the other promotion seasons we've had while I've been watching. Warnock. Fuck me, we had to watch Neil Shipperley. And while Bassett galvanised the club and took them up from nothing, watch the last Leicester last match that season all the way through. The standard of football entertainment was absolutely dire. And the John Harris season, we took it right down to the last match to ensure promotion, something that probably won't happen this season.
Oh and we're in the FA Cup semi-final, with a match against what is probably the world's best team.
Nah, it's obvious the Clough/Adkins/Weir/Robson/Blackwell/Porterfield/Sirrel/Haslam/Bruce/Wilson/Rowley/Adams/Peters etc. years were all far superior to this.
Bring back Dennis Longhorn and Jose Baxter. We know where we are with that kind of shite.....
Fuckin bonkers some people.....

My God it's been garbage……..
probably the worst promotion season that any club has inflicted on its fans.
This promotion season doesn't give me any of that at all, there's a desperation about it.
.

Kin hell mate you must live a charmed life, or your throwing a fanny paddy cos we lost a game we expected to loose

Reality check - this is professional sport, everyone wants to beat each other, every team goes out at the start of the season to win all their games like Barca of old, but it don’t happen

If this is genuinely how you feel mate I’d quit following football, or certainly theBlades and take up pottery or watch school sports days where everyone’s a winner (not in a Savile way)

…….. sometimes your the pidgin sometimes your the statue….

Yesterday doesn’t really change much
We have 4 home games that we should get 12 points from
Followed by Huddersfield away & Birmingham away
We should win the first 3 home games, which WILL PROMOTE US

If you haven't enjoyed this season I'm not sure you're going to get much out of supporting United in the future. Well clear of 2nd all season and an FA cup semi-final. I'm not slagging off people who haven't enjoyed it as they can't change how they feel but seasons like this aren't going to happen to a club like ours too often again.

Don't think anyone's panicking
Just a realisation that United have even managed to give it's supporters a wank promotion season. Another first for United, another first for football.
When has there ever been a wank promotion season before, at any club?
But United have almost managed it, injuries (due to lack of professionalism and fitness mostly). Shit football, boring tactics to stifle games rather than win them, transfer embargoes, financial mayhem, fake takeover, and the realisation that getting promoted, far from being a reason to celebrate is actually only the second worse thing that can happen to us, staying down being the worst.

I won't argue that there has been a bit of a cloud over things recently but your post comes across as rather hysterical.

The football has not been 'shit' in any sense of the word. Have we been consistently great? No. But there have been some incredible moments, that I will remember as fondly as any from other promotion seasons.

The ups and downs are part of the game. Very few teams romp it and have plain sailing in terms of injuries and/or ownership. If you can't find anything, nothing whatsoever to enjoy about this team or season then I genuinely feel for you.

Not many fans up and down the country will have enjoyed this season other than perhaps Arsenal, Newcastle, Brighton, Brentford, Burnley, Leyton Orient and Wrexham.

Everyone else will be whinging, ungrateful and self righteous fans like many complaining on here. We're virtually promoted and playing at wembley ffs man!! 😂

71 other clubs in the football league would love to be in our league position right now. Not to mention the achievement of reaching an FA Cup semi final too - in the same season!

A season like this was an absolute fantasy back in the League One days. Surprised you made it through them.

Ok things did not go to plan, but we restricted Burnley to just 2 goals against our 10 men, when we scored 5 against their 11 men at Bramall Lane.

We wont fold we have four home games coming up just get behind the players and they will produce the performances and deliver the points.

I can see why Hecky rested McAtee in favour of Norwood tonite, maybe he thought that there was a strong possibility we would lose even with McAtee in the side
so Hecky decided to keep him fresh for the next game.

If we had lost playing 11 v 11 you could understand some of the hand wringing, but until that moment we were at least as good as, if not better than them.
Take it on the chin, win on Saturday and all is forgiven.

Wasn't panicking until I just looked at Luton's remaining matches.

Hull aside, who have nothing to play for, they've got to play Rotherham and Reading away, who are both in the scrap, as well as Blackburn and Boro who will want to solidify the best playoff spot possible.

I'd be amazed if they don't drop points from that lot.

No promotion season is a wank season !

Will you still be unhappy if we spank Cardiff 3-0 on Saturday?
I'm guessing probably so, but we're likely to give out a spanking in one of our remaining 4 home games so I'd prepare yourself for the upset that it will cause you. 👍

yeah no way luton are going to win 5 out of 5 i think they might win 3 draw 1 and lose 1 if so we would only need 2 more wins from 6 games 4 of em at home

Complete over reaction on here..

Wes called for it, caused the fuck up..

Move on, they weren't beating us if that didn't happen you know, we were better than them at that point..

Well said, to those fans especially the bell who wants hecky sacked, if you haven't enjoyed this season then which team have you been watching in previous seasons?

We had 6 years in league one, any real utd fans genuinely telling me they were more enjoyable... Really!

Note: while you're at it don't enjoy the semi final as well they're always wank and we always lose, but we got there, and in this day and age what an achievement that is.. I'm proud of the team, what have they gone through and still performed?

I don’t know how old you are, so I’ll give you the benefit of doubt in case you’re under 10. But you seem to have an amazingly short memory and come across at very entitled. Fans have whinged throughout EVERY promotion season we’ve ever had.

Just search this forum for the aftermath of the 3-3 draw at Villa Park.

Ask some older fans about the 5-0 defeat at Upton Park in 1990. Or the 4-0 defeat at Elland Road the same season. Or whether they thought John Gannon should be starting. Watch the United documentary and see the fans moaning in the pub. It never changes.
I was at the 4-0 and 5-0 drubbings by Leeds and West Ham

Same fixtures last season W4 D2 L0 we can do it again

JJBlade's posts almost all carry a theme of dislike and distaste of anything linked to Sheffield. He doesn't like the council, the people, the architecture (unless it's Victorian gothic, ie the "new" Town Hall), the road system, the schools, the hospitals, in fact I've never read a post of his where he says anything positive or complimentary about Sheffield. He appears to live in some mythical glorious past where everything was better, the trams ran on time, and children were seen and not heard (except when they were crying from a dose of well deserved corporal punishment!). Because the Blades are SHEFFIELD United, JJBlade dislikes them with the same passion he reserves for everything Sheffield. Or modern.
JJBlade is our very own Jacob Rees-Mogg, pining for the days of muck, workhouses, child labour, and Fatty Foulke in goal!!

This impending financial disaster could all potentially be solved by change in ownership. It seems as though Dozy has put £10m in already and the EFL are making all the right noises so far.

Don't rule out us getting promoted AND being able to significantly strengthen the team.

Fuck me this thread is ridiculous, panicking, petty squabbling, name calling - got a bit of everything 😂

Where's the popcorn...

Plus up until now they haven't really been in the automatic promotion talk. Now they are the pressure rises considerably and we have seen what that's done to Boro.

After watching Boro play like they did v us at home when they went 1.0 up at Huddersfield just before half time how many of us automatically gave them the 3 points?

Pressure does funny things to teams and players and a lot of our boys have been in this position before and are coping well with it. I can see Rotherham turning Luton over.

Just imagine how sad the pigs are that they may get promotion and still there will be a division gap. They pretend they don’t care, but every night before they go to sleep and every morning when they wake up, they remember.

Just imagine how they will be if it is a 2 division gap next season. I wonder whether Alan's little head might just explode.

Wank is in the Jap's* eye of the beholder.

*Aware of potential racist connotation, but it just doesn't work quite as well without it. Apologies for any potential offence in advance.
