Karl Robinson

Too little, too late......if only you'd shown the necessary ambition Robinson, but maybe Samir had had enough of your style of management, time for pastures new UTB

More like Carruthers wanted to play for a good manager and at a club that isn't a train wreck.

To be fair if I was selling something and Mr Robinson asked me the price, I'd stick a bit extra on top too.

This is what you get for being a knob, Karl.

So funny what's happened.

He accepts a lower offer from Burton for McFadzean than what we were offering.

We end up better off without McFadzean.

He gets sacked.

We beat him to Carruthers, apparently paying less than he was quoted.

Subsequently he probably won't be able to sign Ben Reeves either.

And hopefully we'll beat Charlton to top it off.

So SUFC sign player for less money than rivals were willing to offer. Hmm.

More likely that Charlton just didn't bid enough and he assumed Samir would choose Charlton because he was there.

Although obviously in the press he will claim any old bullshit reason as to why they didn't land him.

To be fair, he does look like he's got a fatter wallet! ( or summat) :o

James Shield: "Well, Samir, Can you shed any light on this?"

Samir Carruthers: "I just liked the whole set-up at United, I liked what Chris Wilder said about the club and where he wanted to take it. And I wanted the chance to play at that legendary stadium in front of those fans. And also Karl Robinson's a fat wanker."

Stay at Charlton: You get to stay in London and play League 1 football for another season.

Blades: Play for the best team in the division, much more likely to be playing Championship football next season.

Hmm.

Karl obviously didn't have a copy of this in his Christmas stocking...

No, but he had a magical mirror, unfortunately this still made him look a cunt though.
Better luck next time Karl, ya prick!

Cant see what tge problem with robinson is , hes never been anything but complimentary about us
Even winding up tge pigs on occasion

There may well be some bitterness, fuelled by regret, creeping in with Robinson.

There was a point in Summer 2014, when it seemed that things were inextricably coming together for Robinson to get the Lane job. Right at the point that it should have happened - and I won't deny that I was one of the many Blades who wanted him at that point - however, it cooled because McCabe wouldn't pay the compensation to release him and neither would Robinson resign to enable it to happen. At that point, Robinson's stock was high and he had said nothing but good things about United. It seemed a perfect fit.

The moment passed, though, and Robinson will know deep down that by dithering he missed his chance to manage a big city club with serious potential.

That's probably why he's talking up his Charlton role now. A case of protesting too much. Wilder doesn't have to do that because everyone knows who the giant amongst the pygmies is; it doesn't need saying.

Charlton Athletic or Sheffield United? I mean, come on, let's be serious. There's no great mystery or hidden reason why Carruthers chose to come to the Lane.
