I've said for years that one ref isn't enough and you've confirmed it from a ref's POV - how can one man see everything when the linesman act like stone statues.
And don't you go correcting me to 'Assistant Refs' coz that's the last thing they do.
In the British amateur sport of Water Polo you have 2 refs so why can't you have 2 refs in the highly paid sport of professional football ?
There is so much fouling & cheating that's not picked up by one ref , just like Bamford getting strangled , it's obviously more than one ref can spot.
And please don't tell me about "any contact other than a shoulder charge" being against the laws of the game

If we signed a CB instead of going for such a personal indulgence of Wilder's like Phillips then we might have actually had a chance of top 6

I'm fully expecting it to be season ending. Otherwise, why mention it? It's just Wilder sewing the seed, to manage expectations.

It's a shame. He needed to get up to speed. I've been mostly impressed with him so far. I'd say of the list here, he and Jairo are the true holding midfielders. Soumare maybe, but like him as I do, he isn't positionally disciplined enough yet. The rest are competing for the other more traditional CM slot IMO.

It will be interesting to see what plans Braga have for Soumare next season. With them seeking out European football and him not playing for the first team, I imagine they will want to ship him out again as he is contracted to them until 2028 and if everything went well with us this season we would have had him on a permanent deal. With him being a Selles signing Wilder might be looking to clear out that era potentially so we might be in the market for a DM on loan in the summer and potentially Phillips might come back then.
