Sign players who are underrated and unloved elsewhere, with a point to prove
Play them in their correct positions and in a system which plays to their strengths
Work harder than the other team, always be positive and try to score goals

I honestly don't think he tells the players to play it long, or short, or any of that. When you have put those players into that system, the style of play will develop on its own.

Chris Wilder's football philosophy?

A question put to me, by someone who asked a 'friend' who writes for the Scottish media.

Rather than me offer him my inexperienced answer, I knew where to ask for far more in depth/knowledgeable thoughts.

The floor is open....

I think philosophies are often confused with tactics. His tactics on the pitch have been adaptable throughout his career, though he obviously prefers attacking football and tries to win every game (none of this Big Sam 'respect the point' bullshittery).

His philosophy seems people-focussed. Good characters, square pegs in square holes, making sure that himself, his staff and his players constantly improve. I think it's quite simple really. Pep Guardiola described his own treatment of his players as (something along the lines of) "I'll love you all the same, but treat you all differently." To that end, I think Leon Clarke epitomises (to use a Warnock word) everything that is amazing about Wilder's 'proper footballing' philosophy.
