I get the horrible feeling we will here the words "crucial ligament injury" pretty soon we definitely need cover for done, McNulty is good but not good enough to guarantee us goals on a regular basis but don't think we will get Davies or COG before end of season.

I mentioned this in one of the countless Diego threads the other day that i hope Done stays fit, Diego gives you that other option that you can never have enough of when going for promotion. As for Done, you little beauty, you just know he's going to be that lad that gets the scrappy goals, be in the right positions just because of his pace and endeavour, what a signing Cloughy has pulled off with this lad.

For our (current) status, we've got a huge squad. Sure, it would be nice to have 2 or 3 players covering for every position but that's not realistic. Injuries/transfers happen and it's a mark of the manager how he adjusts the team to overcome this (Suarez leaving Liverpool?).

No doubt Hulse getting injured in the PL season played an enormous part in our relegation, but so did several other factors.

Look at Forest - paid £5m+ for Assombalonga and now he's out for a year (and very unlikely to ever come back as strong again).

Let's look at Done as a 'gift from heaven'. I've trawled the 'Rumour Mill' part of this board and can't find a single person even mentioning Done as a suitable signing.

If Hoskins hadn't got injured I think we would've still made it over the line.

Beattie's header vs. Stevenage which would've made it 3-2 will last a lifetime in my memory

Whats past is past , hopefully a fully fit higdon and mc nulty and young che adams can all pitch in and will probably have to play some part as we have tuesday saturday more or less every week
unless its an experienced forward with real pedigree cant see many on the horizon able to offer more,

Loan forwards since weve been in league one have added diddly squat in 4 years , cant see that changing , in Che we must trust

Cresswell gave us the start to the season if memory serves me. I have never had an issue with Porter other than to say that he isn't as bad as some lazy armchair experts would have you know. He isn't the answer to our current squad which is why he isn't with us any longer.

In all fairness Cressy was a good partner for Ched and did well early in the season youre right. My concern was that we relied on average players like those two for too long. Porter is a trier, an honest player who gives everything but his and others lack of goals is one of the reasons why we haven't been able to fire our way to promotion for several seasons.

Almost agree but having been our leading scorer last year with (I think) 11 goals, I wonder if anyone is going to get that from his replacements? Done started well but the rest are about on course to achieve the same total as Porter did last season. The mighty Higdon who we bought as his replacement is neither use nor ornament because like Mel B, he is never fit.

If any of strikers cant score more than 11 goals then they are all crap Higdon included. I like McNulty and think he could if he played more but now we have Done I doubt he will. Done's quickly showing it can be achieved tho and has 14 for the season with his Rochdale goals.

Once more you almost have me in agreement. I think the quality of Done is that he knocks in off the shit line, scores goals your cat could score. Thing is why is that? Hoskins didn't get injured. He arrived injured. As I recall, he had a double hernia and yet we still went out and brought him in. He lasted a few games and then had to return to his parent club for an operation

What a mess that was and an absolute fkin ricket to take the risk in the first place

I think he is better than anything we have or had for the above reason but I also think we are putting more decent balls into the right areas. Combine the two and it's lethal.

He scored some screamers for Rochdale earlier in the season. I don't really care how they are scored tho, as long as he scores. I don't think the supply is much different really but confidence really makes a difference and we have it at the mo.
